I think Shadowlands is one of the most difficult books I've ever reviewed because it's not nearly what I thought it'd be from reading the summary. I went into this book with expectations of a standard serial killer thriller plot, and came out with, actually, I don't know how to describe what Shadowlands is without spoiling the ending - a bizarre twisty mindbender? I like it, but in order to fully explain my rating the rest of my review is going to be spoiler heavy, so just know this is *not* a thriller in the classic cops and serial killer sense and be warned if you do decide to click on the spoilers.

Ornella I'm gonna start this one before you give a a low rating and make me not want to bother xD

Mitch Good idea. I have it sitting on my kindle but I'm finishing up Through the Ever Night. You have a few hours :p

Mitch It might be abit waiting for K we're reading it together

Ornella See, I never watched Lost, so even though it was obvious something was going on, I didn't pick up on it till the end xD

Melissa If I read your complete review, will I know what the whole book is about or are you vague about that? Cause I'm still doubting whether or not to read it and if I do it's maybe better I don't know the whole big thing already?

You'll figure it out if you read the whole review.

Ditto.

Katy LOL, I just saw what you wrote on Twitter. I understood alright. It was just some of it still didn't make sense. And the whole thing was frustrating to read because Rory was just too much for me.

If you understood then it would all make sense :p At least all of it does for me.

Regina I just finished this one and ur review does reinforce what I suspected but I really don't get why they called her a lifer and why they were all so obsessed with her.

Mitch You're right, I'm not sure why they were so obsessed with her when I guess any number of characters could be considered to be in the same boat as her. Special snowflake syndrome?

Ashlee I totally agree with your review I thought this book was going to be something entirely different from what I actually read.

danixa I read this book yesterday and had so many questions when it was over, but you just put all the pieces together for me.

I think she's a lifer because maybe in the coming books she will stay on the island like Tristan, Krista, Joaquin, etc. ?

That's probably it. I don't know how the next book will explain it but I agree in order to even have a next book she'd need to be a lifer. Good point.

Sorry to hear that.

Waverly You just answered most of my questions about this book, thank you!
