This is a semi-autographical book about a girl who had psychosis and her journey in a mental hospital for 3 years as she struggled with her fictional world and the real world. I thought this book really highlighted the negative way mental patients were treated and limited resources they had (both in and out of the hospital) and was a great example of what it is like to live in the brain of someone who hallucinates and has a completely different reality from most people. I did find the book a bit slow and repetitive at times and I do wish we got a little bit more depth to our main character and the world her brain created.
