The Christmas Catch

Such a sweet, G-rated holiday read with some tissue-worthy moments and hefty nod to the reason for the season. π
Here are five things I loved about this Christmas novella:
π There is a Christmas-themed ball which sounds like so much fun to plan and attend.
π The small town setting: Peachwood Bay sounds like a town I would love to visit. The Reverend and Mrs. Walker will really grow on you as supporting characters. Also best friend May and Ryan, the physical therapist.
π Just enough football for this KC Chiefs fan. Jay begins the book with a career-ending injury, but there was still enough of the game talk in the story for me.
π¦ There are reindeer in Georgia! Love the way the ball committee incorporates these festive animals into their entertainment. We recently came across a reindeer refuge while travelling in Latvia. Such a serendipitous find.
π The Light of the world is at the center of the narrative. Bebe and her little girl Hope love the story of the Star in the East and how it pointed to the Christ child. BTW, I think Hope may have been my favorite character.
If you are looking for a new holiday read, give this one a try. I enjoyed it so much that I will be seeking out more books from Toni Shiloh in the future. She has a gift for presenting biblical truths without being preachy.
Thank you to Bethany House and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

π Gee, gee, gee, gee, baby, baby, baby π :)
Small town settings seem to work best with these kind of books. Glad this one wasn't the exception. Good review, Darla.

Indeed they do. There was a part of the narrative where Bebe meditated on what the Hallmark version of her story would be liked -- and realized she was basically living a Hallmark movie. Very meta of her. Thanks, Thibault!
