Barbara, with the change to the monthly this month, you have to do BOTH a spell out AND ONE of the other tasks. Only doing the spell out will not count for you as participating in the challenge, as stated in the first star of the How It Works section.
The easiest one that would fit with a Spell Out word would be to do the letter of the month. Please remember to list the other task you are doing in your above post.

TCF Monthly Challenge for April
7/7
How It Works:
★Create your own challenge by mix and matching across the various tasks, however the challenge is not a series of mini challenges!! It is one large challenge, not one for spell outs and one for the General/What's So Great... tasks! With the shortened format, you can no longer focus on just one part of it! This means that you must have at least one spell out word and at least one other task from the Tasks section completed in order to count as participating!
★ However, Multiple Unique books can be used for the same theme in the What's So Great...? Section.
★Books must be read from April 1st to April 30th
★Re-reads are allowed, but all books must be at least 50 pages in length!

With the new rules -- do I have to complete a spell-it-out? I usually try for one of the category spots first and then go for letters, which means my words are patchy but I can adjust if I need to.
Also it looks like rather to try to match all the themes we are supposed to read a lot in one? That's not as fun for me -- I like to see how many different kinds of books I can read.

Beth wrote: "Also it looks like rather to try to match all the themes we are supposed to read a lot in one? That's not as fun for me -- I like to see how many different kinds of books I can read." For this part, you can mix and match across anything that isn't a spell out or just focus on one theme, like National Humor Month, and have all your books be funny reads. So long as you have one Spell Out and one other task (Letter of the Month, Flower on Cover, etc), then I can count you as a participant.

I had started a few other spell-it-outs, but since I didn't get all the letters, I guess I shouldn't add them.
Thanks again Trea for a fun challenge!

Participation on this challenge is dipping, to the point where it is becoming necessary for me to consider permanent retirement of the challenge. I'm going to try out several re-vamps of the challenge over the next couple of months, in an effort to save the challenge from retirement. Feedback is appreciated!
★Books read can be used for only one task/letter! However, Multiple Unique books can be used for the same theme in the What's So Great...? Section.
★Books must be read from April 1st to April 30th
★Re-reads are allowed, but all books must be at least 50 pages in length!
★When using titles in the Spell Out Tasks, the words A, And, An, and The do not count.
★You CAN change your Books at any time during the challenge.
Some Info to Keep In Mind:
♦Keep your original post updated and give a shout out in the thread when you're all done! Please do not make a separate post with your finished challenge, edit your original comment! This is so I can keep accurate track of participation. You can make an announcement post like "Finished in comment #2!", so I know where to find your completed challenge to congratulate you! Duplicate posts will be deleted!
♦Mark books as finished by adding the date finished next to the book listed and either striking them out using the "< s> < /s>" HTML commands (without the spaces) or by copying and pasting a checkmark: ✔ ✓ Feel free as well to rate your Finished Books 1-5 ♥'s with 5 Being the Best, however it is not required that you do so!
♦Add a tally of completed books to your Original Post= 0/5 completed!
See my post for examples and if you have questions, PLEASE ask me here, or PM me!
