Hey Google Nest Community,

We’ve re-enabled the ability to control the volume for multiple speakers or devices at once, using the Google Home app for Android or through Google Assistant with your voice.

Additional ways to access Group Volume Control are on the way, including directly on your Android smartphone lock screen and via smart displays (like Google Nest Hub).

How to use it:

In the Google Home app for Android

  1. Open the app.
  2. Start a playback session.
  3. Tap on the mini-player.
  4. Tap on the output selector and add/remove speakers dynamically or select from one of your preset Speaker groups.
  5. You can now control the volume for the selected devices at once.

Using voice commands

You can also use your voice with Google Assistant to play music and control the volume for the entire Speaker group.  For example, just say “Hey Google, turn it up” (volume increases by 10%) or “Hey Google, set volume to 40%.”

To know more about managing speaker groups, check out our Help Center.

Thanks,

The Google Nest Team
