LeBron James has become the first player in NBA history to score 50,000 combined points in the regular season and postseason. He needed just one point during the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 40-year-old James is already the top scorer in NBA history in both the regular season and the playoffs during a career in which he has rewritten all previous definitions of basketball longevity. He is playing his 22nd season, which is tied with Vince Carter for the most seasons in the league by any NBA player.

The Los Angeles Lakers extended their longest winning streak in four years to seven games with a 136-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron James finished with 34 points after becoming the first player to score 50,000 combined points in the regular season and playoffs. Luka Doncic had 30 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds for the Lakers, who have won 17 of 20 to move into second place in the Western Conference at 39-21. Zion Williamson scored 37 points for the 14th-place Pelicans, who went 2-2 on an encouraging road trip.

Kevin Durant scored 34 points, Devin Booker added 17 and the Phoenix Suns rallied from a 23-point deficit late in the third quarter to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 119-117. The Suns trailed by 19 entering the fourth but came all the way back thanks to big buckets from Durant and backup guard Collin Gillespie. Phoenix had a 43-22 advantage in the fourth, reviving its playoff hopes. The Clippers lost despite Ivica Zubac's 35 points, which was a career high. He added 10 rebounds and shot 15 of 19 from the field. Kawhi Leonard and James Harden both scored 21.

Jackson Shelstad scored eight of his 17 points in the final 90 seconds as Oregon closed on a 10-0 run and the Ducks beat Indiana 74-64 for their sixth win in a row. Nate Bittle finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four blocks for Oregon (22-8, 11-8 Big Ten). Trey Galloway led Indiana (18-11, 9-10) with 16 points. Oumar Balla added 10 points and 12 rebounds, his 10th double-double this season and the 44th of his career. Galloway hit a 3-pointer with 1:58 left to give Indiana a 64-63 lead but, with the shot clock winding down, Shelstad answered with 3 from well beyond NBA range and the Ducks led the rest of the way.

Brooklyn lost its fifth straight, dropping 2 1/2 games out of 10th place in the Eastern Conference. Stephon Castle scored 17 points, and De'Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson added 15 each for San Antonio. Bismack Biyombo, who signed a contract for the rest of the season hours earlier, had 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season. The team confirmed the diagnosis on Tuesday. Irving was injured in the first quarter of Dallas' 122-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night. It's the biggest setback so far this season among a slew of injuries for the Mavericks. They lost 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis to a groin injury in his Dallas debut following the trade that sent superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Two-time All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. is week to week with a sprained left ankle for Memphis after the center-forward was hurt a couple minutes into the Grizzlies' latest loss. The Grizzlies updated Jackson's status Tuesday as a Grade 2 sprain. Jackson left early in the first quarter of Monday night's 132-130 loss to Atlanta. The Grizzlies will provide further updates as necessary. The timing of this injury couldn't be worse for Memphis. The Grizzlies have lost three straight and six of eight to drop from second in the Western Conference standings to fourth. They host Oklahoma on Wednesday night to wrap up a five-game home stand.
