Giovanna Gismondi is a Visiting Associate Professor and Fellow for the Environmental Law Program at the George Washington University Law School. She specializes in the fields of international environmental law, international human rights law, and international investment law and arbitration. Her research focuses on the intersection of these areas, particularly how they shape and influence one another. Professor Gismondi's recent book, International Environmental Law and International Human Rights Law in Investment Treaty Arbitration (Wolters Kluwer, 2023), delves into the role of environmental and human rights law within the context of international investment law. She earned her law degree from Universidad de Lima and later pursued advanced studies at Georgetown University Law Center, where she obtained an LLM and an SJD In the Fall of 2024, Professor Gismondi taught Human Rights and Environmental Protection at GW Law.
