NEET UG 2023 topper: ‘Grandfather inspired me to take medical profession,’ says AIR 19 Arnab Pati
Arnab has learnt the art of handling pressure and patience from cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The NEET topper will pursue MBBS from AIIMS Delhi and wishes to be a cardiologist in future.
New Delhi: The NEET UG 2023 result has been announced and NTA has also released the top 50 merit list for the medical entrance. Arnab Pati, a NEET UG 2023 aspirant from West Bengal’s Bankura district has secured All India Rank (AIR 19) in NEET UG.
Delighted with the achievement, Arnab said that his grandfather late Chittaranjan Pati inspired him to take the medical profession. “In 2019, when I was in Class 9, my grandfather passed away. I was determined to keep my grandfather’s wishes who always want me to take the noble profession and started preparing hard for the medical entrance,” said Arnab.
Arnab secured 715 marks in NEET UG 2023, his percentile is 99.99. Regarding his preparation strategy, Arnab said, “Hard work, consistency in preparation and patience are the key for his success in NEET.” Arnab has learnt the art of handling pressure and patience from cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
After his lass 10, Arnab started preparing for NEET. “I followed the tutorials provided by Allen Career Institute and took around 200 mock tests,” he said. Just days before NEET, Arnab practiced the sample papers, previous years papers besides mock tests. The books he followed for NEET are HC Verma for Physics, Physical Chemistry- RC Mookherjee, NCERT books for Chemistry.

Arnab is a student of Simlapal Madan Mohan High School. Apart from his achievement in NEET, Arnab bagged rank 7 in the Uccha Madhyamik (HS result) and AIR 830 in JEE Main with 99.94 percentile.
The topper credited his success to his parents, teachers, friends and all well wishers. “Without their support, I could not get success in life,” the topper said. Arnab is a cricket fan and loves to listen to music at his free time.
Prabanjan J, Bora Varun Chakravarthi has secured rank 1 in NEET UG with 720 marks. A total of 11,45,976 students passed in the NEET UG 2023 exam, the pass percentage touched at 56.21 per cent.
