Special Areas

Heres what we are studying!!
Reading- We will continue with our Imagine It Series and focus on Expository
texts dealing with the founding of our nation. Students will also complete a
Webquest on famous American Inventors that they learned about in Social
Studies. Students need their AR points by Fall Break or their report card grade
may not ba as high as they would like it to be.

Math- This month we will be finishing up Unit 1 by completing the multiplication
and division of whole numbers standards. Afterwards, we will begin Unit 2,
decimals. This unit includes the standards for reading and writing decimal
numbers to the thousandths. Additionally, students will learn to compare, order,
and round decimal numbers. I am very proud of what the students have
accomplished. As always, feel free to contact me at any time.

Language Arts: We will continue on our parts of speech (Adjectives and Adverbs)
that will enhance our writing. We will also use our Webquest to furnish
informative/expository stories to better prepare us for Georgia Milestones

SS: We will begin approaching the time of World War I, or as it was originally
called: The Great War. This war is often confused with World War II. We will be
clearing up any confusion that students have of The War to End All Wars and
events leading up to the war and important events during the war. At the end of
the month we will begin the era known as The Great Depression.

Science: Students will begin their odyssey into the world of Physical Science.
The journey will begin with a brief look at what is matter. We will then begin
doing various experiments to better develop student understanding of Physical
Science.
