Change in Middle School Conferences!!!!

Due to your students seeing different teachers for all subject areas this year you have the opportunity to choose what teacher you would like to see. It does NOT have to be your childs homeroom teacher. However, you may only sign up with one teacher you cannot make three different conferences because that would take away from others. Please remember that conferences are only 10 minutes to accommodate the teachers seeing more than their homeroom class. You can sign up for these at the office. Conference sheets are coming home with your student today. Please make sure that you return them as soon as possible so that we can prepare for your conference. Thank you.

Language Arts with Ms. Textor

This past week students have continued working on their narrative fictional writing piece. The classes have been vigorously working on their first rough draft. Once drafts are complete students will be conferencing with the teacher to determine what changes need to be made to create a successful paper. Students may be at different stages until the final copy is turned in. In book clubs, students read chapter one and two in The Hunger Games. While reading students were taking notes on key plots, characters and settings of the story. Groups also answered questions about each chapter and looked up their Hunger Games vocabulary words to determine which definition was used in the book specifically. The classes shared their Utopian World towards the end of the week. Next week students will be quizzed on the first two chapters and continue reading with chapters three and four.

Annual Middle School Mixer!!!

Our second annual mixer will be held on December 14 from 5:00-7:00pm. If you are interested in chaperoning or planning this mixer please contact Ms. Textor. Mrs. Morgan will be our head/go to mixer parent this year. Planning will begin soon so please let us know ASAP

Fall conferences will take place on the evenings of November 14th and 15th. Each family will be given a 10 minute time slot to discuss NWEA scores, goals, classroom academies, and behavior in class. Signups are in the office.
