Convenience Sampling
SNOWBALL/NETWORK/CHAIN SAMPLING
- a variant of convenience sampling
- often used when the research population are people with
specific traits who might otherwise be difficult to identify.
Example:
Early sampled members are asked to identify and refer other
people who met the eligibility criteria.
QUOTA SAMPLING
- researcher identifies population strata and determine
how many participants are needed from each stratum
- does not require sophisticated skills or a lot of effort
Example:
A quota of 200 people to answer a certain questionnaire – 120
are female, 80 are male.
