Book Report Assignment To be completed each semester
Choose 2 of the following options (25 pts. Each)
I need to know that you read your book. You will be graded on creativity, neatness/preciseness, and content. Due the last week of the semester (January 2016). I will give you 2 days toward the end of the semester to work, otherwise you need to complete this on your own time, or during quiet reading time. You must read during class. Periodically there will be book talks and questions to answer about your book. The first book talk will be the last 2 days of September. Options: 1. Character Trait Diagram: Create a Venn diagram to illustrate similarities and differences in the traits of two of the main characters in your book. You may also compare a main character to yourself. 2. Interview a Character. Write six to eight questions to ask a main character in your book. Also write the answers to each question. The questions and answers should provide information that shows that you read the book (character traits.) 3. Ten Facts. Create a Ten Facts about (book title) sheet that has ten facts that you learned from reading the book. The facts, written in complete sentences, must include details the student didnt know before reading the book. 4. What did you learn? Write a summary of what you learned from your book. The summary might include factual information, something learned about people in general, or something youve learned about yourself. 5. Prove it in Five Minutes! Give a 150 second (2 min.) speech in which you share information about your books plot and characters. Close the presentation by offering an opinion and recommendation about the book. Then students in the class have 150 seconds to ask questions about the book. If you can prove that you read the book, youre done! 6. Setting. Write a one page report explaining how the setting was important to the story/book. 7. Create a power point presentation on your book (you need at least 6 slides.)
