The most widely used methods of training takes places on-the-job. On-the-job training places the employee in his actual work situation and makes his appearance to be immediately productive. It is learning by apprenticeship training, job instruction, coaching, understanding assignment.

Off-the-job covers numbers of techniques such as class room lecture, film, demonstration, case study and program instruction. In-plant training is on-the-job training method. In-plant training is intended to make candidate aware of work situation and prepare him to be productive.

Company Nirlep was established in 1968 by a visionary businessman Mr.Nilkant Bhogale who used to have interest in trading laboratory and x-ray related equipments. The word Nirlep is an abbreviation that is a combination of two different words. Nir means No & Lep means coating. Thus, the word Nirlep is a symbol of a coating that does not allow the foodstuff to stick. It implies that the coating that Nirlep applies to the cookware doesnt allow the foodstuff to stick to the pots. This makes it easy to wash the cookwares, which is very important considered in using the pots. This was the period when stainless steel was not freely available in India it was only available on quota basis. As such there was a great deal of undersupply of laboratory related equipments in the Indian market. Mr. Bhogle who realized then, the necessity for an alternative to stainless steel equipments. & manufactured the utensils coated with polyterafluoroethylene (PTFE). He thus pioneered the concept of nonstick cookware in India. The first nirlep product was launched in Mumbai. It was a fry pan with code name F.P. 24. It was received with suspicion. It was not surprising because Indian housewife had never seen anything similar to it before. In the initial stages Nirlep had just one distributor in Mumbai. But today the Company is having a wide distribution network of about 85 distributors across the country coupled with a strong & dedicated field force to ensure sales and services at around 9000 retail outlets. Today, Company is a pioneer and leader with a market share of 35% in the non-stick cookware segment in the country. The Company exports its products to countries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Maldives & Sri Lanka. The Company is accredited with the quality Certification ISO 9001 : 2000 of AS/NZS.
The company is having dedicated employee strength of about 225. The company is having six manufacturing plants out of which three are devoted to the cookware business; namely Nirlep Appliance Ltd. Amulet industries pvt. Ltd., & Bhogle coating Pvt. Ltd. The company has also undertaken several turnkey projects for setting up manufacturing plants for the non-stick cookware in middle east & Africa. The other three plants are located in waluj industrial area, Aurangabad namely marathwada auto compo Pvt ltd., umasons auto compo pvt ltd., and umasons steelfab pvt ltd. One & half year back the company entered into a strategic technology tie-up with smaltriva, an Italian company which is a world leader in industrial bake ware coatings. The industrial bake ware coating system (called the SBS coating) denotes the most advanced non-stick coating systems used by the most important food & bakery industries in the world. The SBS coatings systems can be applied only by the most experienced licensed applicators & Nirlep is proud to be one among them. The companys fully integrated manufacturing setup for non-stick cookware manufactures high quality kitchenware such a non-stick fry pans, Tawas, Kadhais, Appam Chatty, Appa Patra, Sandwich makers, Pots & more. 1. Non-stick Cookware:This is formed by applying Teflon coating on the base metal, which is aluminum. This is further classified into three major brands which of course are available in different size & specifications. These brands are as follows;
A) Nirlep Sakhi:
This is the lowest range brand out of three. This is concentrating mostly economy-class segment & is most popular owing to its value for money characteristic. The name Sakhi itself implies that this product is just like a friend of yours. It includes the following: Concave Tawa. Flat Tawa. Dura Pan. Kadhai. Appam Chatty.
B) Nirlep Select:
This is the medium-class product & is placed in a slightly higher price segment as compared to sakhi. It includes following

C) Nirlep Vajra:This is by far the most premium range brand & is consequently placed in the highest price segment. The name vajra signifies the strength of coating applied as regard to its durability. The consumer can use steel spoons instead of wooden spoons without fear of damaging the coating. 2. Hard Anodized cookware:This is the different types of coating as compared to the previous one. The coating is applied on the base metal by the Anodizing process. This gives a beautiful smooth-gray finish. It includes:

This happens mainly because of the presence of these factors of influence heart, brain & mind. Human beings needed to be maintained at every cost. They are considered as through individuals which varied characteristics, attitude etc. Management is to MANAGE- MEN- TACTFULLY. Through there are other major organizational function such as financial management, production management, material & marketing management etc. it is undoubtedly clear that management of the human resources provides all other organizational function. The growth of any company depends upon the people working in it, and the HR decides this. It performs many functions & plays a vital role in the development of the industry. Apart from dealing with the people it works for job description, job specification, wages etc. in short human resources department is that part of the total management of an organization which specifically deals with human resources in respect of the following function:-
Manpower planning :
Manpower required carrying out different functions in any industry. And the HR department decides this manpower after discussion with all the departments of the company to find out the correct output is very complex and difficult task. So for this purpose HR should be very careful to carry out the detailed study of different models of job. This activity is called as job analysis. This job analysis is further sub-divided into job description and job specification.
Job description:
It includes the total job description i.e. how, why, where the job is going to be done. Thus, it gives the total information about job.
Job specification: It gives information of the skill required to do job, type of person i.e. technical or engineer or a management person. It is that right person for the right job. Recruitment and selection: The company makes its recruitments for the management staff through employment agencies, campus recruitments & internal sources. For candidates selected for Executive levels induction depends on the nature of the job. A new recruit is introduced & routed to all the departments, processes, functions and people in the plant. Also the new candidate is familiarized with the rules, regulations and policies of the company. Induction program is facilitated for the candidate. Later the new recruit is given a formal set of job responsibilities the function of recruitment of employees is done through: Newspaper Reference Consultancy Agencies Campus Interviews In this process, they maximize the number of eligible candidates and from them they select the most suitable candidate. After new recruitment their Orientation, induction program is too be done by HR department. After that job training of persons their performance management system (PMS) some training program is to be arranged for the person who got less number on the PMS scale to explore their hidden talent fully. Promotions, increments salary structure all are depend on the performance Appraisal only that decided by HR department.
Induction The company has outstanding induction programme. Not only familiarity with function of departments & machines but also learning processes &operations. Also an induction CD is shown giving him an overview of the parent company and the plant. It is a three days program.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL: Performance appraisal is done annually with quarterly reviews. Selfappraisal method is used for appraising performance. The company does not offer a flexible pay package for the management staff. Promotions in the company are strictly based on the merit, and potential of the employee and no seniority factor is taken into consideration. 360 is mostly used.
INNOVATION:
Innovation and creativity at work place is reward through a letter of appreciation. A photograph along with his name and achievement is put up in the conference hall. This also becomes a basis for promotion. The company carries out career planning and succession planning for potential employees who are identified through performance appraisal. Recently three year back company has started Innovation scheme. There is award known as man of the innovation based on brining in maximum innovation & their implementation. For affiliating, this there is a committee for innovation assessment. Innovation and creativity of the individual becomes a basis for promotion as well. During promotion people within the plant are given preference over others.
Group Appraisal: An employee is appraised by a by a group of appraisers. this group consist of the immediate supervisor of the employee, to the supervisor who have close contract with the employees work, manager or head of the department and consultants. Manager may be the chairman of the group. The supervisor enlightens member about the job character, standard of performance etc. then the group appraise the performance of the employees, compares the actual performance with standards, suggests ways for improvements, etc.
Industrial Relation:
Here employees and workers play an important role in industrial relation. Relation with government is also good in this which helps the company to prosper. Government place a role mediators and tries to regulate the activities and behavior of both employees organization and employers. The implementation of goods HR policies results in good industrial realization.
No punishment is giving in nirlep to the employee for their wrong work or behavior.
TRAINING:
To aid in the formulation of policy governing training of new employees. To provide for training in safety & company policies. To co-operate in the preparation of a special annual report for employee.
Motivation:
The HR manager helps the various departmental managers to design a system of financial and non financial reward to motivate the employees. With the help of motivation moral improvement of the employees is increased and group motivation is also enhanced.

Purchase department functions as windows to an organization. Purchasing department ensures that the right material, equipment and services are produced in the right quantity, from the right source, at the right time, and at a competitive price. Purchasing is mostly done as per requirement of the production department. Organization purchase materials from external sources as they do to not have the capability to manufacture them internally or because they are cheaper to purchase than to make. Purchasing refers to buying of a material or an item from a company or division that supplies material. The purchase department has to purchase the right material low cost, develop a networks of vendors, and provide necessary information about the new products, materials, and services to other departments. In NIRLEP purchasing is done in steps- first planning secondly indents and then purchasing. Purchasing is of row material Aluminum foil roles, machinery spares, and consumable goods. A proper capital investment is there for all these purpose. Purchasing department has to look over suppliers base, cost control, quality control and other services. Purchase department can control cost in row material purchase, labour payment etc. Purchasing cycle is followed in this department. This starts from-the items which are required are listed, then stock level is checked, if they are below minimum, consumption and lastly again the requirement. In NIRLEP purchasing of raw material is done from Aurangabad itself they follow centralized purchasing.
Functions of the purchase department: 1) Make or Buy strategy, KRSS function of purchasing cycle, 2) Buy right quality, at right time, time source, in right price, purchasing form overseas, purchasing price analysis, purchase of services, purchase of capital equity. 3) ERP support to purchase process, budgeting of purchase control. 4) Control packing cost, transportation, and disposal of scrap and surplus, value analysis. 5) Analysis supplier, market vendor development, supplier relation management, purchase polices. 6) Role of purchasing in inventory management, ABC analysis, push and pull system of material flow. 7) Negations skills, dos and donts of negotiations. 8) Next level purchasing, net auction, e-market place, e-procurement, suppliers web communication.

Nirlep non-stick cook ware is manufactured at silver light industries private ltd. Situated in Aurangabad. Plants make use of ultra sophisticated machines and technology, highly skilled professional and strength quality control system to manufacture Indias first non-stick cookware.
Raw material used in Nirlep is purchased from outside from some other company which is amulets industries private limited. The raw material which is purchased is virgin aluminum. Raw material is in the from of aluminum circles which are cut and rolled.
This aluminum sheets are passed on through different steps for making an utensil and the steps for this are as follows:
STEP 1: Quality control test no.1: In this step quality test of aluminum circles is done to ensure their different aspects such as their physical dimensions like diameter, thickness, etc. as per the standards required.
After all this aluminum circles are inspected for any surface defects and if there is any defect so such pieces.
STEP 2: Stamping: Here in this step aluminum circles are stamped with different things like brand name i.e. Nirlep then ISI mark is stamped, name of range i.e. Sakhi, Vajra, select, etc. then name like fry pan, kadhai; then thickness and batch number etc.
STEP 3:
Pressing: As the name suggests in this step the aluminum sheet is given the required shape.
STEP 4: Trimming: As per the name suggest trimming names cutting, so here the aluminum sheet is trimmed to make pan exactly of same height from all the sides.
STEP 5: Per-polishing: In this step outer surface of an utensil is polished to make it suitable for painting.
STEP 6: Welding: In this step studs or bolts as per required are welded on an utensil to make it convenient to join the handle to an utensil.
STEP 7: Decreasing: This step deals with removal of impurities like grease or coolant oil or any such impurity if present on an utensil is removed off utensil surface.
STEP 8: Quality control test no.2: In this test the confirmation of all the physical specification is done and utensil is tried to make as per its standard.
STEP 9: Coating: Here the coating of an utensil is done. Inner surface is spray painted with special type of primer and dried in air and then top coating is done with TEFFLON non-stick coat. Different thickness of coating is given tom different range of utensil. Select range has the overall thickness of coating between 28-35microns.
Savoy range has an added layer of a Ceramic Fiber Re-enforcement (CFR) which increases the thickness up to 40-45microns.
STEP 10: Baking: After coating utensils the coating should be firm so for that they are baked in oven at a temperature of 400* for about one and half an hour.
STEP 11: Quality control test no.3: In this step after coating has been completed again the utensil are inspected and if some error or defect occurs then the piece is removed.
STEP 12: Painting and screening: in this step outer surface of the utensil is again painted from outside to give it a good look and project it from flames and the painting is in the form of spray painting. Screen painting is also done on Savoy Range.
STEP 13: Base grooving and branding: In the step computers are connected with the machines. In this pans or the utensil are prepared to rotate on a high speed and computer governed machines groove the base. Similarly branding is also done.
STEP 14: Edge finishing: In this step edges of the utensils are checked for painting or coating depletion and as per required final touches are given to the utensil here accordingly.
STEP 15: Quality control test no.4: After edge finishing is completed utensils are thoroughly checked and cleaned and a final quality control list is conducted on utensils.
STEP 16: Packaging: In this the handles are field on the utensil or they are packed loose. Packing is done on conveyor belts by using specially designed trays and checked that all accessories are correctly packed. After that all the things are master packed and dispatched Nationwide.
Apart from these major steps more activities are done. They are: 1) After pressing, utensils are cleaned manually and make surface of utensil rough and remove grease. There are three different huge tanks which are field with two types of acids and an alkali solution and temperature and timer is set up as per required. From this the utensil is passed. 2) Finally there is a tank of de-mineralize water which is used for washing the utensils and then utensils are dried in oven type of tank. Tanks are attached with hot water generators to maintain the temperature of tanks. 3) Coating process includes two types of guns for coating the utensils which are placed at a distance to coat the inner and outer surfaces. First gun is used to coat the outer surface of the utensils i.e., TEFLON coating is done and second gun is used to coat the inner surface. 4) Importance is given to pollution control. The water used for cleaning the utensils gets polluted so it is operated in separate unit to fragment the polluted water and to make it more distilled and after this it is allowed to flow.

Marketing is comprehensive and it includes all recourses and a set of activities to direct and facility the follow of goods and services from producer to consumer in the process of distribution.
Marketing department aims to make selling superfluous and it makes clear that marketing is not equal to selling. Marketing just identifying the unfulfilled needs of customers and satisfy them. Marketing thinking start well before production commences and ends only after rendering after sales satisfaction. Marketing is the process of exchange involving two distinct aspect namely, mental and physical. NIRLEP deals with the traditional channel of distribution, that is, manufacturer consumer. distributer/carry forward agent dealer /retailer
Requirement of the product in the concerned contract is seen and then that number of products is made, billing is done of the product and then goods are dispatched to the malls.
The competitors NIRLEP are many, but some of them from the domestic market are NIRLEP appliance, PRISTAGE appliance, HAWKINS appliance, etc.

Finance is an agent that directs the flow of economic activity & facilities its smooth operations. The role that financial department. Plays today are concerned with the planning & effective utilization of the resources, as the resources is scared utilizing it properly is most important.
Account department is one of the major departments. Of any company, as it deals with all the incoming & outing flow of money. This department takes care of all money related deals, etc. from making companys yearly budge to give every employee its salary. It also takes interest in provident fund income tax etc. of each employee. It has to deal with other banks & general manager of other companies for money inflow or outflow details. This department also looks after whether the company is making profit or not & it has to concisely reports to other department about it so the company runs smoothly. Sources of funds for this company are banks, share holders, depositors. Taxation is there in this company in which tax deduction is there and source is income tax. C-from are used during the sales process.

EXPORT-IMPORT DEPARTMENT
The export-import policy plays a very important in directing, regulating and promoting the foreign trade. The Exim policy contains a bouquet of concessions for exporters, focusing sharply on special Economic zones, industrial clusters, infrastructural development, and reduction in transaction. For this department Export-import code certificate is required. This certificate is issued by Directors General Foreign trade (DGTF).This GDTF works under ministry of commerce.
For exporting and importing the following things is required-pan card, ISC certificate, bank of account dealing with foreign currency. They have tariff item code and are 8digits. Letter of credit and document through banks is used more in export.
NIRLEP exports finished products to different countries like Italy, Spain, Hongkong, Turkey, sri-lanka, Zambia. This company imports material for coating from china bengluru. Imported coating contains Teflon platinum coating which is required by foreign customers and this Teflon coating is imported from USA. Aluminum circles, sheets, in gusts are also imported. The export-import is done in this company through waterways.

NIRLEP appliance ltd. Is one of the leading companies in kitchen appliances? The company produces many appliances such as cookers, pans, gas stoves etc. this company has share in the market it is having good turn over and in an increasing manner. This company is having foreign trade also.
NIRLEP appliances Ltd. In Aurangabad is the only plant which is having production plant, all over India. The quality of the product is good and holds a good place in the market.
