    When you switch on your computer, the following screen appears after sometime.
    Whatever you have on your computer is accessible from the icon called My Computer. The small pictures on the Desktop are called icons.

    When you double-click on the My Computer icon, you will get the following screen.

    You can see different icons in this window. When you double-click on any of the icons, it performs certain tasks.

    This shows that your computer has a floppy drive of size 3 1/2". You can insert a floppy in the floppy drive. When you double-click this icon, it gives you the contents of the floppy disk inside the drive.

    This shows that your computer has a hard-disk drive. When you double-click this icon, it gives you the contents of the hard disk. This shows that your computer has a CD-ROM drive installed. You can insert a CD and see its contents by double-clicking the icon.

    The screensaver starts if your computer is idle for a specified time. The steps for changing the screensaver are: 1. Select Start Settings Control Panel 2. The Control Panel window appears. 3. Double-click the Display icon. The Display Properties window appears.
