Hi Everyone,
Another week has zoomed by and put us a week closer to the end of the year. Our enrolments for 2014 are looking very good, with 38 confirmed new preps and several new students across the rest of the school to welcome into our community. Tomorrow at our curriculum day teachers will be planning for 2014, using the Australian Curriculum. Next week we begin our in school transition process. Students will find out who their teachers are for 2014 on Tuesday 10th December. Teachers will begin to work out class groupings over the next week or so. They will take into account academic and social needs, current teacher input and parent requests. Any special considerations need to be put into writing and addressed to me please before the end of next week. The month of November is Walk to School month and we have had lots of students counting their daily steps using pedometers. On Friday 6th December we will start the day with a healthy breakfast to celebrate Walk to School. There will be a disco and jumping castle as well, it should be a great day! Students are encouraged to wear orange on that day to support awareness of the plight of orang-utans and other animals through the devastation of their natural habitat to support the harvesting and the use of palm oil. There is plenty of information online and quite an extensive list on the front door of the school. On Wednesday 18th December all parents are invited to a special afternoon tea to thank you for helping out this year. There will be Christmas songs performed by our talented students as well.
