In this report we are presenting about the jacquard shedding mechanism of manufacturer STAUBLI Model no. dx-100. It is synchronized with a projectile loom of manufaturer SULZER model no. HP7300.
MECHANISMS:
There are three principle mechanism in a jacquard shedding: Drive mechanism (Cams) Selection mechanism (Control Box) Lifting mechanism (Modules)
The Module:
The module ensures the connection between the harness and the lifting mechanism. The Module of DX100 is compact, wear resistant and consumes very less energy. The module is equipped with CLI card, two pulleys, number of hooks, electromagnets, cords.
THE COMPONENTS OF THE JACQUARD MODULES ARE : The CLI Card: The CLI (Command Line Interface) card is an electronic chip, which controls the magnetization and de- magnetization of the hooks. The Cords: One end of the cord is attach to the hook while the other end is attach to another hook (hook which retains either when magnetize or demagnetize. The hooks: There are actually three hooks (two upper and one lower) working in a module. Both of them are attached to the both ends of the cords. One hook is is used to hooked when magnetized or demagnetized. While the other one is used to hooked to the wires (jaala) which contains headle and is then attach to the lingos. The pulleys: The pulleys or the ball bearing is used to lift the warp yarns. The pulleys moves up and down.
Comber board:
The comber board is the piece of hardboard, usually placed 1 to 2 meter below the bottom of the hooks. It is made and drilled to customer specifications. The number and order of holes depends upon the number of hooks in jacquard head.
Lubrication System:
In jacquard (STAUBLI) the lubrication is required for cams, bevel gears, timing belts and for bearings which is done by dropping oil drops. The oil used is Delo shell 440.
Selvedge:
A 2/2 tuck-in type selvedge is done in jacquard (STAUBLI) shedding. 48 chords are provided for this purpose.
SYNCHRONIZATION:
Synchronized with the loom through the drive of cardan shaft and fully-enclosed spiral bevel gear box. Driving mechanism is Timing belt drive which reduces noise. Timing belts use teeth that mesh with grooves in a pulley to drive the system. It brings the cylinder against the board at desired time. There is no slippage which will cause speed variations, thus allowing drives to be timed very accurately. Timing pulley then gives drive to crank shaft which converts linear energy into rotational energy and gives drive to cylinders. The knives are mounted in the knife frame which reciprocates vertically once every pick. Knives are lifted by a rod operating according to the driving of the cylinder
Knife carries the hook when the magnet is magnetized and then it demagnetizes so the hook is stuck with the retaining hook and then the other knife takes the second hook and attaches it with the other retaining hook through the same principle causing both the hooks to attach. Further motion causes the lower pulley to rise and thus causes the yarn to be pulled up according to the defined design fed into the machine.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Model Manufacturer Modules 1 module No Of Cords No of frames 1 cord No of warp ends No. of cords for selvedge Software version DX100 Staubli 336 (present 176) 8 cords 1408 16 4 warp ends 5623 (4 x 1408) 48 JC6
ADVANTAGES:
Easy maintenance No point needing lubrication Few moving parts Modular construction and thus easy access Low vibration even at high speed Reduced setting time, as the machine is electronically controlled and therefore no paper is needed.
LIMITATIONS:
Increasing the no. of module assembly is very complicated. It is very expensive.
