1) Electric aircraft: D2R Dreams to Reality

Today the flight industry contributes 2% of the worlds carbon emissions. Till 2050 it is expected to get
up to 3%. This paper presents the solution for the problem the design of a 50 passengers electrical
motorized aircraft D2R. Creating a new innovative, multi discipline and feasible design
2) Firefighting Airship
The FIFA system (Fire Fighting Airship) is a remote controlled heavy lift airship which is designed to
help fight forest wildfire. The FIFA system can operate 24 hours a day and can carry 20 tons of water
and fire retardant.
3) Ghost Glider - Long Range Autonomous Airdrop System
The Ghost Glider is a UAV designed to deliver a supply crate of up to 1 ton over a gliding distance of
75[km] and a drop altitude of 7[km].
4) Portable Small UAV
The projects objective is to design an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) following the next requirements.

Requirements:

Man-portable UAV
Over the hill / Urban surveillance
Fast field deployment
Endurance: 30 min
Simple, operated by one man
Real time video camera
Quiet
Portable Ground Control System (PGCS)
Fully automated flight (including take-off and landing)

5) Design of a High Temperature Turbine Rotor Air Cooling

This project deals with an educational scheme concerning design of the cooling method of a turbojet
engine turbine rotor of.
This project intent was to design the cooling of an existing turbojet engine rotor to allow higher TIT and
increased power
6) HYbrid Piston Electrical Rotorcraft

Ducted fan vehicles can hover but also perform inflected cruise at high speeds. The preliminary
design has to begin from the basic physics in order to get an optimized vehicle design, for a
given requirement.

7) Flying Susita: A Flying Car for Civilian Use

Flying Susita is a Flying vehicle planned to carry 4 passengers in it. It reaches cruising speed
of 215 km/h, maximum speed of 253 km/h and travel speed of 160 km/h, when in single gas
refueling it travels 400 kilometers/flies 600 km.
8) Selected Topics in Designing a Small Jet Engine

A jet engine has been designed based on a list of requirements from the client.
The main if which were: the limitation on the exterior diameter that shall not exceed 210 mm, a
minimal thrust of 845 N and a maximum specific fuel consumption
of 0.12236 kg/(Nhr).
9) Tetra-Ptera: A flapping winged MAV

Tetra-Ptera is a flapping winged MAV designated to fly in low speeds and indoor areas, and is
capable of carrying a camera as a payload.
Finally, based on the conclusions from the experiments and the comparison to the empiric theoretical
model, a flying Tetra-Ptera MAV was built, capable of flying in low speeds and hover.
10) Aerodynamic Design of a Wingsuit

We have used this basis to design an optimal wing-suit a well-performing suit,

which has acceptable handling qualities and exerts tolerable loads on the limbs.
Comparing simulated performance of our design with the flight test results of the
best existing wing-suits, our design seems to have better flight range and endurance.
However, based on our analysis, it is possible that in these flight tests the wing suits
were not flown at their optimal performance. Correct body positioning could have
allowed better performance in existing suits.
11) Canister Launched Observation UAV
The MONGuard has two cameras and an additional payload of more than 6 [kg] available for the
customer. It can loiter over the target area for more than 6.5 hours. During the project the UAV
configuration was designed and the inner components were chosen and positioned inside the UAV. A
1:0.45 scale flying model was designed, built and flown with great success. A major issue in the project
was launching the UAV from a canister (500x500x2500 [mm]). In order to fit a UAV inside a canister the
aerodynamic surfaces must be designed to occupy minimal volume while the UAV is stored.
12) C-CAT Compressor - Cold Air Turbine Performance Analysis System

The main purpose of this project is reaching the stage of static laboratory experiment to measure the
performance of a commercial compressor during a period of one academic year.
13) SunSailor: Solar Powered UAV

The projects aim was to design, build, and test and fly a solar powered unmanned aerial vehicle
(UAV) with the final goal of breaking the world record for flight distance under certain
limitations.
Aircraft Requirements

Electrical motor propulsion.

Radio controlled flight without the help of any telemetry.
Maximum upper surface area of 1.5 m2.
Maximum weight of 5 kg.
Only solar cells are permitted as the propulsion system power source.

14) Albatross: Flying Wing Small UAV

. They were required to build an all-electric airplane capable of carrying two payloads, on its wing tips
and inside the fuselage (2 configurations). The airplane had to be packed into a 2x1x4 ft box after every
mission. The team designed a small flying wing, which fitted into the box without being disassembled.
Apart from the configurations, it had to perform 2 out 3 given missions:
15) Augmentation of an Imaging Constellation with the Hyperspectral Microsatellite

OKEV
The object of this project is to design a micro-satellite using hyperspectral wide field imaging for
exploring marine and coastal environments.
16) vibrational reduction
17) stealth without aerodynamics
18) automation in landing gear
19) optimization in vertical take off
20)rc plane modeling
21) coding techniques in aircraft
22) flow analysis over a bullet
