Method Statement
Objective
The purpose of this section is to describe the important steps related to the Masonry work
in Auditorium.
2.0
Setting out
Initial setting out will be carried-out by using necessary survey equipments under
supervision of Site Engineer/Engineer Assistant. This will be done methodically with all
sorts of cross checking and computations, as per the drawings received from the
consultant. 100mm offline will be marked from internal side of the 225mm brick wall and
200mm offline will be marked from the internal side from the block wall.
3.0
leveling
1000mm Structural finished level would be marked on the brick wall. Exact measurement
of Sill and Lintel levels would be taken from this line.
4.0
Stiffener Column/Beams
Our Quality Assurance Engineer/Technical officer will check the quality of the bricks/blocks
and standard test also been done prior to the unloading.
All the bricks would be properly cured prior the laying.
All the works done under qualified staff member and continuous quality checking would
be done by our Quality Assurance Engineer/Technical staff during the work.
6.0
Brick works
Mix proportion of 1:5 Cement : Sand, mortar would be use for the brick work. Mortar
would be used within 2hrs after mixing with water.

Plastering works
Mix proportion of 1:5 Cement : Sand, mortar would be used for the plastering work.
Alteration to the lime, 80ml 120ml of Cebex-R112 (ReoMix/FebMix) would be added to
each 50kg of cement.
7.0
Bond Type
Placing Tie-bar
2mm thick GI tie will be placed 1200mm C/C in vertically as well horizontally.
9.0
Verticality
Brick wall
Verticality will be measured in each layer of the brick using plumb bob.
Plastering
Level pegs on walls will be fixed in minimum of 16mm with reference to the off lines to
block walls set out in floors.
10.0 Surface Preparation/Improving Joints of Brick Wall & Structural Concrete
Surface of the walls would be properly cleaned. Concrete surface will be properly roughen
or apply 1:1 mix of cement : sand slurry with chemifix prior to the plastering work. Beam
bottom to wall will be stop by maintaining 2mm gap as per the consultants instruction.
