Role Title: HEALTH EVALUATION CONSULTANT (EARLY DIAGNOSIS)
Give evaluation advice and support Cancer Networks and Primary Care
Trust (PCTs) about the evaluation of initiatives designed to improve early
diagnosis of breast, bowel and lung cancer.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Essentials:
• Educated to at least degree level or relevant experience, with good
experience of health evaluation, preferably of complex
interventions, and data analysis
• Excellent communication skills especially in relation to advocating
evaluation
• Demonstrable understanding of challenges involved in working with
multiple stakeholders.
• Experience of managing stakeholder relationships
• Experience of influencing across a wide range of levels of seniority
• Evidence of having used planning and analytical skills to great
effect
• Experience of working within a team, and advising and consulting
on evaluating varied projects.
• Excellent IT skills
Desirables:
• Experience of coordinating evaluation in complex settings
• Experience of working in a public health environments.
• Experience of social marketing and communications.
• Good understanding of challenges involved in progressing national
health strategies, such as the Cancer Reform Strategy
• Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment
• Experience of statistical analysis
• Experience of an NHS informatics environment
• Understanding of data held by Cancer Registries
