metal enclosures.
A wide range is available, including monobloc enclosures for wall mounting
or floor-standing use (manufactured either in steel or stainless steel), and
combinable modular enclosures, ideal for building large units. There is also a
fully updated range of control desks, and enclosures manufactured with
ALU-ZINC 150 metal plates, ensuring effective reflection of electromagnetic
waves for EMC protection.
This ranges multi-functionality is made possible by various complementary
installation systems and accessories: mounting plates, distribution chassis,

Accessories for CMO and OLN enclosures
Mounting plate
Manufactured in galvanized steel. It includes a perimeter reinforcing rib
and the vertical edges are strengthened with a double folded edge. Depth
adjustable in 25 mm (0.98 in.) intervals.
In sets comprising two or more OLN enclosures with mounting plates, it is
possible to use intermediate plates to obtain a continuous plate surface.
Max. load of 600 kg (1322.77 lbs) (with plate in the back) and 500 kg
(1102.31 lbs.) if placed in the middle.

Galvanized sheet steel intermediate plate to provide a continuous mounting
plate surface when joining cubicles.
If the PMOL mounting plates are located in the bottom of the cubicles, the
vertical profiles of the actual cubicle structure are flush with the plates, acting
as an intermediate plate. In this case it would not be possible (or necessary)

the reinforcements and the thickness of the material help to ensure excellent
rigidity and resistance.
A gasket with specially-designed shape and material helps to ensure the enclosures IP65 degree of protection. PLA enclosures are particularly suitable
for industrial applications where exposure to corrosive chemical agents and

Made of galvanized steel sheet, with reinforcement fold on models starting
with a height of 1000 mm (39.3 in.).
Directly joined to the bottom of the enclosure itself or to the depth adjustable
supports.
On 2-door enclosures, a full plate or 2 partial plates can be fitted (see
selection guide).
Enclosures starting with a height of 1000 mm (39.3 in.) are equipped with
bosses for intermediate mounting so the PMM plates of a height lower than
the enclosures nominal height can be positioned (see note (1) below). In this
case, inserts ref.: TEX 8 must be ordered separately.

aligns the body of the fan with the machining in
the enclosures wall. This system corrects possible
defects both with regard to sizing as well as to
machining precision.
Multiple mounting clips system. This exclusive
device helps provide easy and reliable mounting of the
fan system on 0.8 mm (0.03 in.) to 4.5 mm (0.17 in.)
thick walls without the need of additional fasteners,
thus ensuring watertightness.
Front grille with inclined plane. The special
arrangement of the blades:

Forced ventilation system
General features:
c The Schneider Electric fans are comprised of an axial motor, a protective
casing that covers the front and back and a dust particle filter.
c This filter can be replaced, even while the fan is in operation, without the
risk of coming into contact with the blades or other rotating parts.
c Optionally, the fans can be equipped with a thin filter that protects
installations sensitive to dust in a highly effective fashion.
c The die-cut template included in the standard supply helps prevent
markings and protects the enclosures surface from scratches during
handling.
Conditions of use:
c The exterior temperature (Te) should be 5 C less than the desired
temperature (Ts) in the enclosure.
c The fans filters should be cleaned or replaced periodically.
c The environmental setting should be relatively clean to avoid changing the
filters too frequently.
c Take into account the loss of load through the openings (grille with filter,
ventilation grill or simple opening) when determining the fans flow rate.

Degrees of protection
The location of the enclosure and the physical,
chemical and climatic conditions to which it is
exposed will determine the model to be used.
The wide range of products included in the various
families in our general catalogue (including metal
enclosures, insulated polyester enclosures and
boxes and the various distribution systems),
have been designed and manufactured with
consideration given to their degree of protection.
The suitability of the various types of enclosures to
specific uses depends on the construction material
and the final conditions to which it will be exposed.
Given their strength, metal enclosures are
particularly well suited to indoor areas where they
may experience impacts. On the other hand,
stainless steel enclosures are especially useful in
corrosive environments or in spaces where special
hygiene requirements apply.
When an enclosure is required for an all-weather
location, where it will be exposed to many hours
of sunlight, contact with saline or chemical agents,
etc., the most appropriate choice would be a
model from the large family of pressed polyester
enclosures.

The enclosures must provide a degree of

protection of both the equipment against
environmental conditions and the personnel
against accidental contact with the
equipment. The specific types of enclosures,
their applications and the additional ambient
conditions for which they are designed are:
c Type 1: Indoor use. Provides protection for personnel from accidental

contact with the equipment and protection of the equipment against dirt.
