General Notes

General notes:

1. Unless otherwise specified, dimensions are in millimeters and levels are in


meters.
2. Drawing shall not be scaled, only written dimension shall be followed.
3. The drawings shall be read in conjunction with drawings of all relevant discipline
and project specifications as per the contract.
4. Any discrepancies noticed shall be intimated to the consultant / site engineer

Structural notes:
1. Safe bearing capacity considered for foundation is 200 kPa (client to provide
geotechnical Investigation Report and Topographical survey report for design
verifications).
2. Blinding concrete shall be 75mm thk minimum of grade C20 (SRC if below soil
level)
3. All structural concrete shall be grade C30 (OPC)
4. Grade of steel reinforcement 460mpa (minimum)
5. Cover to outer layer of reinforcement shall be 75 mm for foundation, beams,
walls and columns below G.L
a. 40 mm for column above G.L
b. 40 mm for beam
c. 30 mm for slabs
6. Hollow blocks (400x200x200) with concrete infill (C30-OPC if above ground
level, if below ground level C-30-SRC).
7. Minimum strength of hollow block (without concrete infill) shall be 10 MPa
(minimum).
8. Wherever reinforcements are spliced minimum lap length shall be 50 D, where
D is the diameter of the reinforcement. Reinforcement mesh shall have a lap of
300 mm.
9. All un-reinforced concrete up to plinth level shall have sulphate resisting
cement.
10. Wherever hollow blocks are filled with concrete Grade SRC 15 to be used for
works below plinth level and OPC 15 above plinth level.
11.All exposed edges of concrete shall have 25 x 25 mm chamfer.
12.Grade slab shall be cast in alternate bay pattern of area not exceeding 36 m 2.
13.All hot rolled steel sections and plates shall be with a yield strength of 275 MPa
(minimum) or S275JR.
14.All welds shall be min 6mm thk Fillet weld unless otherwise noted.
15.All structural bolts shall be grade 8.8 unless otherwise noted
16.Holding down anchor bolts shall be of grade 4.6.
17.Protective coating - all structural steel shall be sand blasted + one coat of
primer+ top coat finish
