Experience

INVASIVE SPECIES & BIOLOGIC MANAGEMENT SPECALIST | TOWN OF VAIL | 2017

For this position I managed and coordinated the Town of Vails Invasive species program. This work required
managing conservation corps crews on IS abatement efforts, directing and developing work plans for hired private
contractors, coordinating biologic inventories and management operations with the USFS White River National
office and conducting National Forest Foundations and Great Outdoors Colorado grant and bidding material as well
as conducting onsite walkthroughs for grant organization members. Moreover I acted as a dispute liaison between
private residents and commercial applicators and also conducted lunch and learn sessions, lead landscape trainings
for commercial companies, and provided site consultations to over 100 local entities and residents. Additionally, I
conducted over 2,436 biologic surveys, consulted on riparian restorations projects and nutrient cycling parameters
as part of the Restore the Gore program. Moreover, I personally wrote the Town of Vail Noxious Weed
Management Plan, which was fully adopted by town council, approved the legal department, and implemented
under my term. Beyond this I developed a digitalized management form submission and field collection platform
th
which reduced notification and entry time by 1/12 and QA/QC checks by 1/3rd freeing up both IT, GIS, and field
crew hours. Moreover, I provided project guidance and was the primary contact to hired open lands and biologic
control consultants.

INVASIVE SPECIES & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT INTERN | TOWN OF VAIL | 2016

For this position I personally performed vegetation surveys for over 2,400 parcels within the Town of Vail and
uploaded collected field data into our organizations internal SQL server utilizing a custom interface on ARCGIS
collector for invasive species which I developed. Uploaded data could then be download [as a 2D array] and input
into an invasive species area extent and tracking model [which I also developed] that automatically generates
model results into annual and synopsis reports for the state. Additionally, I evaluated conveyance lines and
outflow points utilizing our streets app to identify linkages between stormwater system intakes, conveyance
channels and outflows to consult construction agencies on how to better improve stomwater BMP efficiencies by
evaluating pre-existing stormwater infrastructure. Moreover, I worked directly with hired contractors, construction
agencies, and the plethora of large private entities to help coordinate environmental program and compliance
efforts, generate right of way agreements, host trainings, and provide ground support.

CLIENT SERVICES & CONSULTING INTERN | RMB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS | 2015

For this position I conducted the required field work for over 300 lakes program clients including the routing
monitoring, sample collection, & QA/QC requirements for our biologic surveys. These surveys required gridding
out the littoral zone of lakes and streams, verifying the presence of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS), the severity, and
tracking their movement within the littoral zone. At this position our firm also designed and implemented slope
stability projects to reduce sediment loading for multiple lake districts. These efforts required directing
conservation crew and excavation companies to cut back critical slopes, cover exposed soils with biodegradable
cover materials and introduce native seeding and planting procedures. I was also directly involved in generating
client reports and deliverables that summarized the years findings, discussed abatement performance results, and
prioritized implementation projects.

NUTRIENT EXCHANGE FIELD TECHNICIAN| COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY| 2014 -15

For this position I was responsible for the proper construction, installation, wiring and monitoring of remote field
instrumentation to evaluate hyporheic exchange in RMNP over two years. I personally built, wired, installed,
marked [Trimbel], mapped, and removed over a dozen groundwater wells and four surface water stations with YSI
housings, pressure transducers, solar stations and Campbell CR10X data loggers. Moreover, I conducted all the
metabolic uptake testing, discharge measurements and sample filtration procedures for collected piezometer and
surface water station sampling.

AEROSOL INSTRUMENT FIELD TECHNICIAN| DROPLET MEASUREMENT TECHNOLOGIES| 2008 - 2010

For This Position I was the primary field technician working on the Aerosol Spectrometer [UHSAS]
instrument. This position required me to perform installation, system checks, in flight systems monitoring, de-
installation, and on site trouble shooting for Droplets [UHSAS] instrument onto the Global Hawk autonomous
drone aircraft. In total I overcame various inflight overheating issues by reconfiguring the internal instrument
configuration installing micro fans, increasing heat dissipating surface area, and distancing PC board
configurations via aluminum mounting expansions components; with the retrofits in place we were able to
maintain continues operation for over 30 hours of flight. Furthermore, at the end of our research contract I
conducted operations debriefs explaining our research our team was later awarded by the flight research center
for our contributions to the research effort as a whole.
