Chanting the Mahmantra
From The Search for r^ Ka, Reality the Beautiful
by
His Divine Grace r^la Bhakti Rakak r^dhar Dev-Goswm^ Mahrj
Before chanting the Holy Name of Ka, we must first chant the Paca-tattva Mantra:
Hare Ka Hare Ka
Ka Ka Hare Hare
Hare Rma Hare Rma
Rma Rma Hare Hare
This Harinma Mahmantra is found in the Upaniads, as well as in the Agni
Pura and the Brahma Pura. In the Kalisantaraa Upaniad, it is recom-
mended as the highest Mantra, and the scholars have mentioned this Mantra as a
means of address only; no appeal should be attached to that. This Hare Ka Mah-
mantra is the yuga dharmma nma, or the process of God realisation especially
meant for the present age: Kali-yuga. We find the Mahmantra mentioned everywhere
in the Puras. This Mantra can be chanted silently, mentally, or aloud. It has been
given to us by Mahprabhu as the general recommendation for the fallen souls.
He has given it for all, whether they are qualfied or unqualified. The only condition for
receiving it is raddh, faith.

What we need are good friends and
association. Then we can proceed happily.
And the other factor is that if our surrender is
perfect, then from the upper level faith will
come to us and protect us. If someone is fully
surrendered to Ka in His form as Guru or
sdhu, then Ka will certainly protect him.
He must protect him.
A teacher is always necessary,

necessary. Guidance is always necessary!
Guidance is always good for everyone.
