If we dig more deeper we will find so many kind of text actually, such as descriptive text,
narrative text, spoof text, recount text, etc. But we will focuss in discussing report text.
report text is a type of text that announce the result of an investigation or announce
something. The information given in a report text is very general information. Social
function of report text is to present information about something generally to the reader.
Report text also has generic stucture consist of General Classification and description.
1. Teacher choose authentic materials (Report Text) from media such as newspaper,
magazine, etc and read it in front of the class.
2. Teacher made some question according to the information in the text.
3. Teacher ask about information, generic stucture, and language features of the text
4. With picture, teacher describe and explain the information about report text.
5. Teacher give another example of report text and student need to find the generic
structure and also language features.
1. Teacher prepares some report text and read it or give it to groups of student.
2. Teacher ask students to focus and find the generic structure and language features
of the text and fill it in the table.
3. Teacher choose one group to come forward and read their project in front of the
class, meanwhile the other groups pay attention and give feedback or comment.
4. Teacher ask one group to stands and read the whole text with correct intonation,
gesture, and mimic.
5. Teacher give explanation if students ask a question.
1. Students are divided into several groups consist of four and five students and they
need to work together in their group.
2. Teacher give a jumble sentence to groups of student. Each group will receive different
text.
3. Teacher ask the groups to rearrange the jumble sentence into a complete report text.
4. Teacher ask students to make a summary about their report text.
5. Teacher ask student to make some question complete with its answer according to the
their report text.
6. Teacher ask one group to come forward and explain their group discussion about
summary of their report text, and the other group pay attention and give feedback or
comment.
7. The group stands in front of the class will ask a question to another groups.
