Lesson Reflective Summary

Teacher Candidate for Science Endorsement: Purity Kamau

Instructor: Terri George

School: Brumby Elementary Grade: K

Lesson Topic: Forces and Interactions

Most of the things went well. The students were already familiar with the concept of
pull and push. They also knew that living things move in different ways. They were able
to push and pull things to move them. The challenge in was making them see the pushes
and pulls as animals move. The space in the classroom was limiting and the weather did
not allow to have the lesson outdoors.

How well were the lesson’s student performance objectives attained?

The learners were able to predict the direction in which objects would move when
pushed or pulled. They were also able to explain the observation. At this point they
couldn’t easily perceive that interactions between two objects could possible cause
changes in both of them. We had to make some toys collide several times to make it
clear.

Every student had a chance to carry out the activities as the teacher guided them to not
only play but grasp the science behind each happening. They had a chance to explore ,
wonder and ask questions.

My knowledge of the scientific content enabled me to help the student grasp the
scientific concepts and understand the processes.

If I had the opportunity to re-teach the lesson, I would assign more time or exploration.
