● Practicum II - 10 weeks - student teaching
● Taught up to 100% of the time for 6 consecutive weeks
● Responsible for unit and lesson planning, teaching, reflecting,
inquiry
● Throughout this practicum I was able to further explore my
professional identity as the role of the teacher and discover teaching
pedagogies that best suit my practice

Nov. – Dec. 2016 St. Louis - Susan Flanagan - Grade 5/6


● Practicum I - 5 weeks as a student teacher
● Full time placement teaching 50% of the time
● Responsible for lesson planning, teaching, reflecting, inquiry
● Throughout this practicum I was able to explore my professional
identity as the role of the teacher

Feb. – Apr. 2017 St. Patrick’s School – Grade 4 - Gym Focus


● 10 hour practicum with the intentions to support professional
growth and understanding as a teacher
● Taught 6 gym lessons to two different classes with 3 other
colleagues. One group was a Gym class and the other was DPA in
the classroom.
● Badminton unit was done in the gym. Yoga was done for DPA.

● 20-hour practicum for Language Development and Literacy in
Schools course
● Focused on literacy within the classroom
● Responsible for completing running records and miscue analysis

Feb. - Mar. 2015 George Davison Elementary School – Anne Rogers – Grade 3/4
● 30 hour practicum with the intentions to support professional
growth and understanding as a teacher
● Observed the classroom
● Taught one lesson on Grade 4 Waste and Our World

● Observed the classroom environment as a teacher for the first time
● Assisted individuals and small groups that required additional

Jan. - Aug. 2017 SK Camps - Owner & Instructor - Ages 3-14


● Afterschool Program & Summer Camps
● Planned each day of camp and had the students play games, make
crafts, interact with one another, and enjoy the outdoors.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Sept. 2016 - April 2018 President’s Student Advisory Council at Medicine Hat College
● Worked with the President, Vice President & 12 other
students to make MHC a better place for students to come
to school
● Organized and ran events such as the Food Drive for the
Medicine Hat College and local Food Bank, as well as
started a email and group for students to be open and feel
safe about sexual assault
● Volunteered at 6 college events while on this council

Oct. 2016 PRAXIS Family Science Olympics


● Worked in small groups to generate a science project that
reflects curriculum
● Put together an interactive presentation for the Family
Science Olympics
● Interacted with the community and shared our project
● Guided and shared inquiry based learning that involved
static electricity. We did this through an experiment of
rolling a balloon with an empty pop can.

● Provided assistance to teachers who were in need of
directions throughout the college
● Ran errands for staff, students, and volunteers as needed
throughout the weekend

● Served as a judge for the annual science fair
