Configuring WinKFP V5.3.

1 to flash an EGS GKE195

Download and unpack SP-Daten-E89 on your hard drive (2014 was V54).

Start WinKFP and select Import/Export->Import->P-SGBD

Browse to the location where you unpacked your files and select the folder ecu. Hit ctrl+A to
select all files, then hit Import.
If your Ediabas\ECU directory already contains a bunch of .prg files, you might need to hit “Yes”
on the following popups about 100 times…

Next, click Import/Export ->Import -> PABD in the menu bar of WinKFP. Browse to the sgdat
folder, select all files there and hit “Import”.
Again, if you have already .ipo files in the SGDAT folder, you might need to hit “yes” another
100 times.

Next, click Import/Export -> Import ->Assembly line data


Browse to the data folder and highlight the folder GKE195, then click OK.
Close WinKFP.

Now Browse to the Folder Update\E89\data\gdaten

and copy all files to C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\GDATEN overwriting all files that may be there.
On the next start of older versions of WinKFP you might get an error message like this:
This is because older versions of WinKFP can’t handle long keys. In that case just open the
SgIdC.as2 file and delete those lines. They are easy to find: Either by line number (see error
message or look for 1 or 2 long lines in the key file).

Finally, open the configuration screen of WinKFP and select/deselect the following options:
If you select the UIF fields, you’ll need to input your VIN during the flash preparation and there is
a maximum of 62 times this User Information field can be updated.
Make sure “Fast baudrate” and “Force program programming in comfort mode” is not checked.

WinKFP should now be ready for flashing the transmission data files.
