1. Scope
Procedure Page : 3 of 7
This procedure outline the requirement for hydro test product and utilities piping
2. General
- The chloride content of the water shall be less than 100 ppm
Note : the PH value and chloride content of the test water water to be used for testing
stainless steel pipes shall be lab test prior to filling and the certificate shall be attached
- The gauge full scale pressure shall not exceed three (3) times
the particular test pressure, unless the later is than 700 kPa.

the event where check valve are incorporated in the system, the
2.5 Test Pressure : The line test pressure shall in accordance to the
system test pressure. In the event where the test system comprise
pressure proposed.
2.6 Equipment not : Control valves, safety relief valves, filters, etc
shall not be included in the test system but have been test by the
manufacture.
Line check and the pre-hydro test checklist (attachment 1) shall be completed and sign-off
4. Test Procedure
4.2 Fill piping with test medium to capacity ensuring no air entrapment and isolate all vent.
4.3 The hydrostatic test pressure shall not less than 1.5 times the design pressure, butt
shall not exceed 1.5 time the maximum rate pressure of the lowest-rated component in

the system. Any leaks identified during pressurizing shall be corrected with the line
4.4 When no leaks are observed at design pressure, the line pressure shall than be
increased to the required test pressure for ten (10) minutes. The start time and end
4.5 After successful holding of pressure at the required test pressure, the line pressure
shall reduced to the design pressure for visual inspection by Client or Epiterma. The
rate of depressurizing shall not exceed thirty (30) psig per minute.
4.6 Upon successful completion of the visual inspection, the line pressure shall be
reduced to zero (0) psig. Some vent shall be opened during depressurizing to prevent
5. Safety
5.1 No work of any sort shall be carried out on the lines under pressure at time of
hydrostatic test unless such work is essential to performance of the testing operation.
5.2 An emergency drain-off shall be identified and manned in case of a system over
pressure.
5.3 All other safety measures relating to site construction work shall be strictly adhere to.
