3. Single cell protein can overcome the problem of malnutrition. Write your views with
proper scientific evidence.
4. Briefly discuss about importance of actinomyceates.
5. Discuss the important characteristics of single cell protein.

Set B
1. Draw a process flow (upstream and downstream) diagram for the cultivation of
spirulina.
2. Explain the optimum process parameters for production of algal protein.
3. Write short note on nutritional characteristics of spirulina.
4. Discuss the importance of single cell protein.
5. Mention any two applications of actinomycetes proteins.

1. Discuss the production of algal protein and its advantages.
2. Describe single cell protein technology. What are parameters to be taken into
consideration to obtain the maximum nutritional value?
3. Design a process (upstream and downstream) for the cultivation of spirulina. Justify
the selection of each unit operation.
