I. OBJECTIVES
The learner demonstrates understanding of key
A. Content Standards
concepts of sets and the real number system.
The learner is able to formulate challenging situations
B. Performance Standards involving sets and real numbers and solve these in a
variety of strategies.
C. Learning Competencies/ The learner performs fundamental operations on
Objectives integers.
II. CONTENT Addition of Integers
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide Pages pp. 30-35
2. Learner’s Material Pages pp. 19-22
3. Textbook Pages Orines et al. (2012). New Century Mathematics.
pp 60-68
4. Additional Materials from Learning Resources
B. Other Learning Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new  The students will be asked to bring out their
lesson counters.
 The students will be asked what is meant by
“opposites”.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson The students will be asked what will happen if they
have 1 peso and pay it to their 1 peso debt.
C. Presenting examples/ The students will realize that their debt represents
instances of the new lesson the negative integer and the money that they have is
the positive integers. Further, they will realize that
when -1 combined with +1 will result to zero.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skill #1 Examples on addition of both positive and both
negative integers will be shown.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skill #2 Examples on addition of unlike signs (a negative and a
positive integer) will be shown.
F. Developing Mastery The students will solve the remaining examples on
their own using their counters.
G. Finding practical applications of concepts & skills in The students will think of their experiences which are
daily living related to addition of integers.
H. Making generalizations & abstractions about the Have a student to generalize on how to add integers.

J. Additional activities for application or remediation
V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for

remediation who scored below 80%

C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners who

caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation

E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why

did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal

or supervisor can help me solve?

G. What innovation or localized materials did I

use/discover which I wish to share with other
