1. At a computer store, a printer was sold at $490. At an electronic store, the same
printer was sold at $435. A manager bought 6 printers from the electronics store.
How much did he save?
2. Mr Grab and Mr Fox had $4536 altogether. Mr Grab’s share was twice as much
as Mr Fox’s. Mr Grab spent $500 on a television. How much did he have left?
3. There were 406 books in a bookcase altogether. The bookcase had three shelves.
The middle shelf had 100 more books than the top shelf. The bottom shelf had 4
times as many books as the top shelf. How many books were there on the
bottom shelf?
4. An aeroplane made 5 trips. It travelled 2085 km each on 2 of the trips. On the
other trips, it travelled 1640 km each. What was the total distance travelled by
the aeroplane?
5. Shirene had 1750 stamps. Atha had 480 fewer stamps than Shirene. Shirene gave
some stamps to Atha. In the end, Atha had 3 times as many stamps as Shirene.
How many stamps did Shirene have in the end?
6. Naray had 1240 beads and Raj had 4730 beads. Raj gave some beads to Naray. In
the end, Naray had twice as many beads as Raj. How many beads did Raj give
Naray?
7. A tailor had 5000 buttons. He sewed 9 button on each shirt and had 2048
buttons left. Them he sold all the shirts at $36 each. Find the total amount
collected by the tailor.
