CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

This chapter presents the project background and context, project purpose and

description, objectives of the study, scope and limitation and definition of terms.

PROJECT BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

In society, technology touches every part of lives because of its rapid

development. It helps people to make the work easier and more efficient. During the

latest decade there has been a quick development in companies’ use of information

technology. Because of technology, has become people great companion on their

everyday work. With the recent boom in technology, more and more businesses or

establishments have been upgrading their arsenals and taking advantage of the

advancement in order to better serve their customers and also to make organization

easier for the owner of the business.

Money lending business is a very popular business in the Philippines. People with

lending business let other person who needs money to borrow and pay it back added with

a specific interest. Formal or informal lending business is not an issue to the Filipinos.

Credit institutions use software systems or simply spreadsheets to record data about

money flows between them and their clients.

Lighthouse Money Lend Inc. was established March 6, 2013 and after 2 months it

was already registered for business. They started with only two people and by the time

goes by the company start to grow and after 2 years they established a satellite office in

Cubao, Quezon City. The Lighthouse Money Lend Inc is still using a old system up until

now. Lighthouse Money Lend Inc. is a business letting people borrow money with a 2%

interest.

The loan management system is a system that can record the information of the

clients, the transactions, the loan approvals, printing of receipt and it can also send

reports. It’s a system that can help the owner of the business to lessen their time and

work. Businesses whether large or small have a form of records for their finances. A

lending management system is a database management system used to automate the loan

services of a business. It is also a system that can manage loan transactions, easy file

retrieval and entry. It will lessen the time of work for both the admin and clients.

PROJECT PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION

The Lighthouse Money Lend Inc current system is not updated / old system

because of that it can slow the process of lending money and it is also unsecured. The

proponents came up to this proposed system to help the owner of the business to lessen

the time of their work. The purpose of this study is to develop a Loan Management

System for the Lighthouse Money Lend Inc to help the owner organize all the information

and transactions of the customers.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The main objective of the proposed system is to develop a loan management

system for Lighthouse Money Lend Inc.

 To upgrade the System

 To maintain the confidentiality of the clients’ Individual records

 To be easily lend money for the client

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The scope of the proposed system focuses to determine the following:

 The system can accept Client daily payments.

 The system will store the information of each client and make it

confidential.

The limitations of the proposed system are:

 The owner of the business and the users assigned by the owner are

authorized to open the proposed system.

 The payment transactions can only be done in person.
