CHEERDANCE
Is a coined from the words Cheer
and Dance it originated in the
United States.
CHEER
To cheer is to shout out words or
phrases that may help motivate and
boost the morale of a playing team
and perform better during a game.
DANCE
On the other hand, is a physical
activity where one expresses
emotions or gesture while
performing bodily movements
usually in time with rhythm.
Cheerleading
Is the performance of a routine,
usually dominated by:
- Gymnastic skills such as jumps,
tumbling skills, lifts and tosses.
-Routine of 2 minutes and 30
seconds
Cheer Dance
Cheer Dance routine composed
of:
-Composed of yells and cheers.
-Gymnastic skills (pyramids and tosses,
stunts, tumbling skills, arm and hand
positions and jumps)
-Dance (fusion of different dance
genres)
Beginning Stance
Feet together, hands down by the side in
blades.
Clasp
Hands clasped, at the chin, elbows in.
Clap
Hands in blades, at the chin, elbows in.
High V
Arms extended up forming a “V”, relax
the shoulders
Low V
Arms extended down forming a “V”
Touchdown
Arms extended straight and parallel to
each other, fist facing in.
Low Touchdown
Arms extended straight down and
parallel
to each other, fist facing in.
L Motion
One arm extended to the side with other
arm extended in a punch motion, (Left L
shown)
T Motion
Both arms extended straight out to the
side and parallel to the ground, relax the
shoulders.
Half T
Both arms parallel to the ground and
bent at the elbows, fists into shoulders.

Activity: Cheer dance Festival
The class will be divided into 4
groups.
And each group will be given
a 3 minutes to make a simple
routine compose of basic
hand movements and position
in cheer dance
Each group will perform in front
with music
Routine will run 1 – 2 minutes
Students will be graded using
criteria.
