8. Brake, front axle
the wheel brake applies the discs (disc brakes) in the axles
the parking brake applies the disc brake in the transmission
the auxiliary brake (engine brake) increases the engine's resistance through increased load on fan pump P3.
If the machine is moving at 5 km/h or above, neutral gear is not activated when parking brake is applied. This is to reinforce
braking power with engine braking when the parking brake is used as a supplementary brake.
The brake system is integrated with the cooling fan system and the parking brake.
Other systems that can affect the braking system are:
The machine can also be equipped with various optional equipment that affects the braking system:
1. Axle, rear
2. Axle, front
3. Foot brake valve
4. Brake accumulator block
5. Central valve
6. Cooling fan motor
7. Differential lock

Summary
The brake system and the cooling fan share the same hydraulic pump P3.
Brake pressure charging takes place passively by P2 and actively by P3.

Plastic hose, inside diameter approx. 6 mm (0.236 in), length approx. 1 m (3 ft)
The brake system is divided into two circuits. This means that if only one circuit has been opened (a line has been disconnected,
etc.), only that circuit requires bleeding.
1. Check and adjust the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank.
2. Fully depress the brake pedal and block it in that position with a suitable spacer.
4. WARNING
Oil under high pressure!
Connect the plastic hose to the bleeder nipple and carefully open the bleeder screw. Close the bleeder screw when oil
free from air flows out.

1. The brake test must be carried out in a place where there is no risk of injuries or damage to personnel or equipment.
The ground must be clean and have good friction (dry asphalt or similar). The machine must not be loaded.
2. Press and hold in key 8 on the keypad for approx. 4 seconds. When prompted “Go to Service mode”, press SELECT.
Information
Go to Service mode
No Yes
3. Scroll to TEST and press SELECT, choose Brake test and press SELECT, choose On, press SELECT.
4. Engage gear position F and accelerate when the text “Accelerate over 20 km/h” is shown on the information display,
brake maximally when the text “Brake to standstill” is shown on the information display.
The retardation value is shown on the information display.
5. If the wheels lock and slide on the ground surface, the test has to be repeated.
6. The three latest test values are saved in Brake test log.

This operation also includes required tools and times for applicable parts of the following operations:
1. If needed, bleed air from the brake system, see Brake system, bleeding.
2. Warm up the machine until the hydraulic system has reached operating temperature according to Hydraulic system,
warming up
3. Lock the frame joint with the frame joint lock, place blocks in front of and behind the wheels.
5. Press and hold in key 8 (service) on the keypad for approx. 4 seconds. When asked if you want to enter Service mode,
press SELECT.

7. Press the brake pedal repeatedly (30–40 times) until the accumulator pressure on the display is 0.
9. Let the engine idle until the cut-out pressure is reached and the accumulator pressure on the display stops increasing.
Check the value in Brake system, specifications.
NOTE!
During the first approx. 20 seconds the output brake pressure also increases due to an internal test.
NOTE!
The cut-out pressure cannot be adjusted. If the pressure is too low, continue by checking max. brake pressure, see below.
10. Carefully press down the brake pedal repeatedly. The accumulator pressure on the display will drop.
11. When the accumulator pressure on the display is below the cut-in pressure, the accumulator pressure on the display
starts to increase again. Check the value for the cut-in/cut-out point, and check in Brake system, specifications.
NOTE!
The cut-in pressure cannot be adjusted. If the pressure is incorrect, check pressure sensor SE5201, see SE5201, description and
measuring.
12. Run the tilt to end-position and hold the lever there.
13. Check max. brake charging pressure by reading off the accumulator pressure on the display. Check the value in Brake
system, specifications.
17. Press and hold in key 8 (service) on the keypad for approx. 4 seconds. When asked if you want to enter Service mode,
press SELECT.
18. Press key 4 (axles) on the keypad to check the accumulator pressure.
19. Press the brake pedal repeatedly (30–40 times) until the accumulator pressure on the display is 0.
Figure 1
20. Before adjusting max. brake pressure, connect the pressure gauge to the accumulator block to get a more exact value.
Figure 2
22. Then repeat the check for max. brake pressure, according to section "Max. brake pressure, checking" , but read off the
value on the pressure gauge instead of on the display.
23. Find the pressure limiting valve for max. brake pressure on the central block.
Figure 3
26. Then repeat the check for max. brake pressure, according to section "Max. brake pressure, checking" , but read off the
value on the pressure gauge instead of on the display.
The foot brake valve is of the proportional type, which means that the output brake pressure is proportionate to the angle of the
brake pedal. The valve has two circuits, one for the front axle brakes and one for the rear axle brakes. The maximum output
brake pressure is limited. This reduced brake pressure can be adjusted on the underside of the valve by increasing or reducing
the stroke of the brake pedal.
