GENERAL, MAST
WARNING
In addition to the checks and safety regulations
found in this description, always refer to the
country’s own applicable laws regarding safety
regulations.
The lift truck has fork spreading and fork side shifting as standard.
In addition, tucks are also available with fork banking, fixed forks
and central banking as an option.

REMOVING FORKS
1. Relieve the forks and operate them laterally.
2. Secure the spreading cylinders. Slacken off the screws holding
the cylinders in the forks.
3. Place straps on the forks.
WARNING
There is a high centre of gravity on the forks.
Risk of personal injury. The forks can easily tip
over when lifted out.
The mast is fitted with lift chains for lifting the lifting truck.
1. Lower the inner mast so that the lift chains and hydraulic
hoses slacken.
2. Mark up the hydraulic hoses for the lift truck and remove the
connections at the lift truck. Plug the hoses and connections.
3. Secure the hoses so that they do not roll around the block for
the hose tension.
4. Open and remove the cotter pin (1). Remove the pin (2) at the
chain tensioner.
5. Secure the lift chain so that it does not roll around the chain
wheel.
6. Remove the lift truck as follows:
• Tilt the mast to take the load off the rollers.
• Carefully lift the inner mast. Check that the lift chains and
hydraulic hoses are not trapped.
• Reverse the machine when the lowest part of the inner mast
has passed the upper rollers.
• Lower the inner mast.

16. Lift out the outer mast.
NOTE!
For extra instructions and images, also see section “Removing the ECB
mast”.
MAST WHEEL
The mast wheels guide the inner mast against the outer mast and
are available in two versions. Machine sizes SMV10-16 have
spherical twin row roller bearings and machine sizes SMV18-60
have twin conical roller bearings.
REMOVING
1. Unscrew the four screws (5).
2. Pull off the axle supports (4) from the axle.
3. Remove the bushings and axle.
4. Check that the axle, side support reel (3) and bushings are
undamaged.
5. Clean the side support reel’s contact surface.
INSTALLING
1. Check the dimensions of the outer mast and shim the support
reels according to section“Shimming and measuring mast”
2. Install the side support reel in reverse order to removal.
NOTE!
Two different thicknesses of shims are available, 1.0 and 2.0 mm.
REMOVING
1. Remove the four screws (5) holding the top support reel.
1. Remove the cotter pin (9) and pull out the axle (1). Remove
the bushings (3). Check axle and bushings.
2. Clean and check the top support reel (2).
3. Check outer contact surfaces and clearance between axle (1)
and the bushings (3).
INSTALLING
1. Carefully measure the distance between the inner mast’s outer
walls. Measure along the entire outer walls and note the
greatest distance.
1. Transfer the distance to the top support reels.
2. The total clearance between the top support reels and the
inner mast’s outer walls must be 0,0–1,0 mm.
3. Align the shims in pairs between the holders for the top
support reels and the mast to achieve the correct tolerance.

LIFT CHAINS
CHAIN WHEEL
There are two versions of chain wheel. Machine sizes SMV10-16
are equipped with bushings and SMV18-60 have double roller
bearings.
Removing
1. Remove the lift chains according to the instructions in section
“Removing standard mast”.
2. Remove the locking screw (1) for the lock for the axle (3).
3. Screw a screw into the threaded hole (2) so that the axle is
pressed out.
4. Remove the chain wheel (4) and bushing/roller bearing that
are inside the chain wheel.
5. Clean the chain wheel, bushing and axle. Check components
for wear.

CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
1. Adjust the lift chains using the adjusting nuts (1) so that the
distance between the base plate and the lift truck is 10 mm
when the stand is in the lowest position. Both lift chains must
be adjusted the same.
To adjust:
- Raise the lift truck 50 mm.
- Place a spacer 10 mm on both sides (1).
- Lower the lift truck so that it rests on the spacer.
- Tension (or slacken) so that both lift chains have the same
tension using the nuts (2).
2. Lock the lower adjusting nut (5) for the lift chain.
3. Raise the truck, preferably with load.
4. Tighten the nut (3) and lock with the nut (2).
Adjuster nuts
5. Check that:
- No pins in the outer washers are loose or turned.
- No cracks are visible in any of the washers (link section).
- There is no mechanical damage.
- The lift chain is not rusty.
- The lift chain bends easily over the idler pulley (it does not
stick when bent).
If the chain has any of the faults above, replace the chain.
LIFT TRUCK
9. When lowest part of the inner mast has passed the reels, the
truck reverses and the inner mast is lowered.
Shim the support reel for the lift truck according to corresponding
instructions for “Shimming and measuring mast”. Measure the
a-dimension against the inner mast.
FORKS
MARKING, FORKS
Each fork is stamped (marked) (1) with information about
thickness and the capacity of the fork. The marking is on the side
of the shaft.
Example:
6000/6350x600x60
WEAR, FORKS
Check that the thickness of the blade (3) is not less than 90 % of
the stamped thickness (1).
DEFORMATION, FORKS
Check that the angle between blade and shaft is 90°.
Check the fork blade’s out-of-true.
