1. CR4000 Description
1.1 1.1 CR4000 summary
CR4000 is a GPS location service supplier for vehicle. It provides superior
sensitivity up to -165dBm and fast Time-To-First-Fix GPS application and support FDD
LTE and WCDMA UMTS/HSPA+. The device could be monitored by backend server or
other specified terminals.
CR4000 has multiple input/output interfaces that can be used to monitor vehicle
status or control external device. User can setup device working parameter by PC setup
program base on personality application.
CR4000 embedded with high sensitivity GPS antenna and GSM antenna.it has RS485
bus, support fuel sensor, flow meter, RFID and other custom accessories.

2.2 Interface definition

The CR4000 unit has a16 pins interface connector; It contains the pins for power,
inputs and outputs, analog inputs, RS485 bus and 5VDC output. The sequence and
definition are shown in the following figure.

2.3 Installing SIM card

Make sure the unit is not powered, remove the screws, and open the case. Slide the
holder right to open the SIM card. Insert the SIM card into the holder. Close the SIM card
holder. Close the case.

2.4 Power connection:

PWR(11#) and GND(6#) is power supply input pins for the unit, the input voltage
range is from 9V to 36V. The device is designed to be installed in the vehicles that
operate on 12V or 24V power systems.

2.5 Ignition detection and ARM Control

IGN(12#) is used for ignition detection. It is strongly recommended to connect this
pin to ignition key “ON” position as show up.
IGN signal can be configured to start transmitting information to backend server
when ignition is on.
The IGN signal more than 5V DC, unit will consider IGN ON, otherwise IGN OFF.

2.6 Digital input

IN1 (7#) and IN2(9#) are digital inputs, they are all negative trigger.

2.7 Analog input

There are two analog inputs on CR4000, the analog input voltage is from 0 to 36V, it
can connect temperature sensor and fuel level sensor (with analog output).
The following diagram shows the reference connection.

2.8 Digital Output

There are three digital outputs on CR4000. The outputs are open drain type and the
maximum drain current is 150mA. The output can connect cut relay, buzzer, lock, unlock
and trunk, and so on.

2.9 5V DC output
There is 5V power supply on CR4000, it can supply for accessories, such as card
reader, fuel level sensor or com camera.
The following diagram shows the connection of 5v DC power.

2.10 RS485 bus

There is RS485 bus on CR4000, CR4000 can connect any accessories with RS485 bus,
such as fuel level sensor, flow meter, card reader, UHF tag reader and camera. CR4000
support customized device with RS485 interface.

3. SETUP with PCSETUP program.

3.1 PC SETUP cable
There is PC SETUP cable for unit configuration and firmware update. The PC SETUP
cable is USB to uart cable, user can get driver from SILICON website:
http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

3.2 PC SETUP connector

There is PC setup connector on the CR4000, it is 4-PIN connector. When setup device.
Follow the following step.
Connect PC SETUP cable.
Open PC SETUP program.
Power on CR4000, or press and hold RESET button to reset the unit.

3.3 PC SETUP program

PC SETUP program set the network parameter as below：
Device ID; Server IP address and port，APN, SMS Center number.
Device initialize distance should consistent with the odometer.

PC SETUP program can set the report include:

Fix time; fix distance; idle report, speeding report; course report;
Set Ignition, door, other digital input and analog input trigger conditions.
Set accessories working parameter, such as temperature sensor, camera, fuel level
sensor and so on…

4.3 APP support Android and IOS

User-friendly query of vehicles at any time could download from IOS APP store and
android app market. Use same account as PC tracking platform and web-based platform.

5. Accessories
5.1 Fuel level sensor
CR4000 connect fuel level sensor with analog input, detecting the fuel level of tank.
Update fuel level to platform in time. It will supply fuel consumption analysis form. The
form will show refueling and fuel stealing records.

5.2 Flow meter

CR4000 connect flow meter through digital input, to count pulse of flow meter, to
calculate the liquid flow, and report to server. flow meters can be used in company gas
stations for fuel management.

5.3 Dispenser base on RS485

CR4000 connect dispenser through RS485 bus, drive can scan IC card to refuel the
vehicle. CR4000 could operate how many fuel to output,Report will include driver
identity and fuel amount. Company will have a form of fuel analysis at the end of month.

5.4 Camera based on RS485

CR4000 could control RS485 camera, to snapshot, and load the picture into CR4000
flash memory. Upload picture to FTP server. User could send APP command to snapshot
or take picture automatically base on geo-fence define.

5.5 Wireless IC Card reader

CR4000 can connect to IC card reader through RS485 bus. Card readers mainly used
for identify driver identity, to limit the amount of fuel each time, and limit driving time.

5.6 Temperature sensor

CR4000 support temperature sensor, connect sensor with analog input, usually used
for refrigerated vehicles. The temperature sensor has 3 meters wire.
