ABSTRACT
The cosmetics industry has been rapidly growing today. Numbers of brands
offer various beauty and skin care products with different classifications such as the scent,
effects, ingredients used, what the user wishes to achieve, and also considering the user’s
skin type. Many people take skin care very seriously. Some consider their skin care regimen
services to achieve their “skin goals”, namely: anti-aging, whitening, moisturizing, anti-
pimples, acne removal, skin firming, glowing, glass skin, and others. These factors are
available in many products and services today which all appear to be the same, but differ in
the effectiveness and the safety level of the product on the user’s skin. Aside from the usual,
the researchers came up with a different idea: skin healing through natural and organic
ingredients.
Wounds naturally heal itself through the body’s healing process, yet sometimes still
leave a scar. Some scars completely heal or become unnoticeable through time, but some
seem almost impossible to remove. With this, the researchers decided to use 3 of the most
used ingredients in the skin care world – Aloe Vera, Lemongrass and Cacao, but with the
intention to bring out their overlooked quality: their potential to heal. The combination of
the 3 could bring out various skin advantages since each of them contain different skin
effects. However, the researchers decided to focus on its ability to heal scars since each of
The researchers aimed to make the skin healing product “all organic” by using only
the 3 natural ingredients without chemicals or even preservatives. The process involved
scraping the aloe vera with a spoon, boiling the lemongrass to be able to extract the juice,
and crushing the cacao into tiny particles. After the individual process for each ingredient,
the three were mixed with particular measures each to produce the product.
