Courses COURSE DESCRIPTION


The course deals with the nature of identity, as well as the factors and
forces that affects the development and maintenance of personal
identity. The directive to know oneself has inspired countless and varied
ways to comply. Among the questions that everyone has had to grapple
with at one time or other is “Who am I?” At no other period is this
question asked more urgently than in adolescence-traditionally believed
it to be time vulnerability and great possibilities. Issues of self and
identity are among the most critical for the young. This course is
intended to facilitate the exploration of the issues and concerns
regarding self and identity to arrive at a better understanding of one ’s
self. It strives it strives to meet this goal by stressing the integration of
the personal with the academic contextualizing matters discussed in the
Understanding the classroom and in everyday experiences of students-making for better
Self learning, generating a new appreciation for the learning process, and
developing a more critical and reflective attitude while enabling them to
manage and improve their selves to attain a better quality of life. This
course is divided into three major parts: The first part seeks to
understand the construct of the self from various disciplinal
perspectives: Philosophy, sociological, anthropology, and psychology-
as well as more traditional between the East and West –each seeking
to provide answers to the difficult essential questions of “What is the
Self?” The second part explores some of the various aspects that make
up the self, such as the biological and material up to and including the
more recent Digital Self. The third identifies three areas of concern for
young students: learning, goal setting, and managing stress. It also

this course and enables them the hands-on experience of developing
self-help plans for regulated learning, goal setting, and self-care

and social, cultural, political and economic contexts which shape and
are shaped by them. This interdisciplinary course engages students to
confront the realities brought about by science and technology in

Purposive communication is a three-unit course that develops students’
communicative competence and enhances their cultural and
intercultural may awareness through multi-modal tasks that provide
them opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a

power of language and the impact of images to emphasize the

skills, and insights that students gain from this course, maybe used in

careers as they compose and produce relevant oral, written, audio-
visual and/or web-based output for various purposes.

Ethics deals with principle of ethical behaviour in modern society at the


level of the person, society, and in interaction with the environment and
other shared resources. (CMO 20 s. 2013)

Morality pertains to the standard of right and wrong that an individual


originally picks up from the community. This course discusses the
context and principles of ethical behaviour in modern society at the
level of the individual, society, and in interaction with the environment
Ethics and other shared resources. The course also teaches students to make
moral decisions by using dominant moral frameworks and by applying a
seven step moral reasoning model to analyze and solve moral
dilemmas.

The course is organized according to the three (3) nmain elements of


the moral experience: (a) agent, including context-cultural, communal,
and environmental; (b) the act; and (c) reason of framework (for the
act).

This course includes the mandatory topic on taxation.

Art Appreciation Art appreciation is a three-unit course that develops students’ ability to
appreciate, analyse and critique works of art. Through interdisciplinary
and multimodal approaches, this course equips the students with a
broad knowledge of the practical, historical, philosophical, and social
relevance of the arts in order to hone the students’ ability to articulate
their understanding of the arts. The course also develops students’
competency in researching and curating as well as conceptualizing,
mounting, and evaluating art productions. The course aims to
develop students’ general appreciation for Philippine arts by
providing them opportunities to explore the diversity and richness and
their rootedness in Filipino culture.

This course analyses Philippine History from multiple perspectives


through the lens of selected primary and secondary sources coming
from various disciplines and different genres. Students are given
opportunities to analyse the author’s background and main arguments,
Readings in the compare different points of view, identify biases and examine evidences
Philippine History presented in the document. The discussion will tackle traditional topics
in history and other interdisciplinary themes that will deepen and
broaden their understanding of Philippine political, economic, cultural,
social and religious history. Priority is to develop the historical and
critical consciousness of the students so that they will become versatile,
articulate, broadminded, morally upright and socially responsible
citizens. This course has mandatory topics on the Philippine
Constitution, agrarian reform and taxation.

As mandated by Republic Act 142, this course covers the life and works

of Jose Rizal are Rizal’s bibliography and his writing, particularly the novels ,Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo, some of his essays and
correspondence.

This course will survey the historical, cultural, geographical background

of literature, and some leading aspects of the Bible teaching.
Basic Christian This course is a survey of the basic Christian Doctrines of the Bible. It

Experiential Learning
This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher
Field Study 1- to actual classroom situation and learning environment where direct

A portfolio which will contain sample lesson or learning plans and
demonstration teaching of at least one subject content area will be
required. An action research shall be encouraged to start in this course
and conclude during the internship.

This course is a one semester full time teaching internship in a basic


education school using a clinical approach under the mentorship of a
Teaching Internship cooperating teacher. Teaching internship shall be done both in the in-
campus or off-campus if possible. No academic courses shall be taken
together with Teaching Internship. A teaching portfolio shall be required
and the completion of the Action research.

C. MAJOR COURSE

Pagtuturo ng Pagsanay ng paggamit ng estruktura at gamit ng Wikang Filipino sa
Filipino sa pagtuturo sa elementarya. Sumasaklaw sa deskriptibong pag-aaral ng
Elementarya I wikang Filipino sa lebel ng ponolohiya, morpolohiya, semantics at
sintaks.

Pagtuturo ng Ang kursong ito ay naglalaman ng paksa tungkol sa panitikan ng


Filipino sa Pilipinas mula sa panahon bago dumating ang mga kastila hanggang
Elementarya II sa kasalukuyang panahon. Maihahambing ang mga panitikan sa bawat
panahon at mabibigyang halaga ang mga kulturang nakapaloob sa
bawat akda. Matututunan din ang mga panitikan ng mga bawat pangkat
etniko na kinabibilangan at suriin batay sa mga tuntunin sa pagsusuri.

Technology for TLL 2 is a 3unit course which will focus on the application, design,

Integrates and Project-based Learning plan aligned to the K to 12
curriculum. All the learning activities and course requirement for these
course requirements will revolve around the student-teacher developed
learning plan.

Research in This is a practicum research course that will provide prospective


Teaching elementary teachers avenue to conduct applied or action research that
will provide empirical bases to improve teaching and learning. This
course maybe taken together simultaneously with Field Study 1 and
Field Study 2.

Teaching Multi- This is a course in implementation of multi-age course that deals with
grade Classes the theories, principles and concepts of multi-age learners. It includes
pedagogical approaches and contextualized learning environments for
the different age levels for instructions in different school situations.

Fundamentals of This course is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of music and

techniques, phrases, keyboard awareness, key signatures, scales,
intervals and harmony using I, IV, and V with a chordal instrument.

concepts through written documentation.

This course will help students develop their skill competencies,


participate in individual/dual sports and work toward achievement of
INDIVIDUAL AND personal fitness levels. Students within the class we performing at
DUAL SPORTS varying levels of competency. Sports include: badminton, table tennis,
chess, game of generals and track and fields.
This is physical activity class that focuses on participants as it relates
to cultural, ethnic, gender, and physical diversity in such sports as
TEAMS SPORT basketball, baseball, football, soccer, speedball, volleyball, or any
game that incorporates team sport.

Pursuant to section 12 of Republic Act no. 9136, otherwise known as


the National Training Service Program (NSTP) act of 2001, the CHED
TESDA , DND, and other concerned government agency hereby jointly
issue, adopt, and promulgate the following implementing rules and

to become familiarized with and responsive to the problems facing their
CIVIC WELFARE constituencies. NSTP or CWTS is performed for the benefit of the public
TRAINING SERVICE and the community itself. It should be part of the learning process and
