Overcoming Rejections

Welcome. Opening Prayer.

Derecho na sa Word.

WORD: PSALM 23: 1-6

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me long right paths,
Bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
For you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
Protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

While we are here on this world, dili malikayan na mka experience tag rejection.
Where do we feel rejection?

1. School/Workplace.
Sometimes we feel alone even in a group of people.
Usahay dika kasulod sa grupo sa uban.

2. Friends.
3. Ministry.
4. Family.
The most painful rejection comes from the family.

How to overcome rejections?

1. Learn to love yourself.

You are unique in your own way.

Don’t compare yourself with other people.
Don’t question why ingana sya, ingana ka, because you are unique in your own way.
Don’t compare your lives with other people.
Trust the timeline of God.
He is in control of your life.

2. Stop seeking approval from other people.

Don’t base your self-esteem from others.

Self-esteem is how you see yourself- regardless on how people treat you, it is you
who has a final say of who you are.
Reality is: you cannot please everyone. Because same as you are, others are unique.
They have their own preferences on things. And being unique individuals, masakitan
lng ka if mag cge kag agad sa approval nila. Kay dili jd nimo ma please tanan.
No matter how good you are, no matter how smart you are, you can never please
everyone.

So para dili ka ma dishearten, FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE WHO ACCEPTED YOU AND
NOT ON THE PEOPLE WHO REJECTED YOU.
LEARN TO ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE AND WHO OTHERS ARE.
AND LEARN TO ACCEPT THAT YOU COULD NEVER PLEASE EVERYONE.
EMBRACE WHO YOU ARE AND LOVE YOURSELF THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU.
FORGIVE OTHERS WHO HAS REJECTED YOU. IT IS NOT YOUR DUTY TO CARRY THE
BURDEN. LEAVE IT TO GOD. FOCUS ON HIS WAYS AND ON HIS COMMANDS.
FOCUS ON YOUR JOURNEY.
YOU HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE. STOP ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THEIR APPROVAL.

STOP BEING CRITICAL.

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat
others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.”
Matthew 7: 1-2

3. Know that God loves you and His approval is more than enough for your life.

Psalm 23: 1
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,

STOP HOLDING ON TO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT YOU, INSTEAD,
START EMBRACING WHAT GOD IS TALKING ABOUT YOU.
HE LOVES YOU AND HE CARES FOR YOU.

STOP HATING YOURSELF FOR NOT ABLE TO FILL THE STANDARDS OF THIS WORLD,
FOR IN THE EYES OF GOD, YOU ARE ENOUGH. YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH.

YOU ARE HIS MASTERPIECE.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE LOVED. SO ARE HIS PRINCESS.
STOP HOLDING ON TO WHAT OTHERS MAY HAVE JUDGED YOU.
BUT START EMBRACING ON HOW GOD SEES YOU. 

a) PRAY AND SOAK.

Whenever you feel so many doubts about yourself already, just be in the
presence of God. Pray, soak, and allow Him to fill you. He is the only one that can
satisfy us always.

b) LIMIT SOCIAL MEDIA.

Instead of browsing the internet, why don’t you stop and pray and seek the
presence of God? His presence empowers you. His presence will renew you.

c) DARK VALLEYS DO COME.

Problems do come that can affect your self-esteem. But trust that God will see
you through.

Advantages of Praying over Worrying?
