“Humanity: The Fields of Social Sciences”
As humanity grows into a much more diverse descendants of the planet, the
history of their development has been sculptured through time. Their remains were
preserved and nurtured both tangible and intangible means- to incorporate their
established values, culture, religion and ways of life in today’s innovative era. The
history of mankind has been discovered through the different disciplines of study with
the aim of rectifying the complexity of humanity. Anthropology, sociology and political
science are three interrelated disciplines which mainly depicted how human societies
operate individually and their relationship with each other. With these three disciplines,
the complex concept of humanity has been quite explained deliberately.
Anthropology is the “study of human beings”, it has humanity as it’s main

objective. This discipline tries to explain the manifestation of being a human, in a sense
of how different an individual can be and in what means do humans have something
in common. Anthropology takes a broad approach in different aspects of human
experience and holism as it considers past events in determining the essential
relationship between eras.
The knowledge in anthropology is widely needed in the concept of archaeology.

The sense of investigating history of past societies is solely related in the study of
humans. The world of anthropology reinstates the similarities and differences of
human races and societies that has been established over the past years which
supported by archaeological evidences. In a study conducted by American
Anthropological Association, it is found that biogenetics and bioscience is related in
the study of humans. The knowledge in the biological function of body parts, genetics,
and behavioral means of human beings has been discovered through anthropology.
With this, the uniqueness of the human body from other living species were defined
as well as their commonalities. Aside from this, the knowledge in anthropology also
contributed in determining the cultural aspects of societies. Anthropology explored the
different living lifestyle of societies. It observed societies culture, values, language,
religion and ways of living. The different perspective and viewpoints of humanity were
distinguished as the societies established their social norms, rules, values and law.
Sociology is the study of society, including patterns of social relationships,

interaction and culture. Sociology has a strong appeal to an individual’s own viewpoint
in life. It scientifically discusses an individual’s relationship to its own social groups
such as its family, peer groups and community. The knowledge in sociology can be
related on the character development of an individual. As sociology relates to everyday
life an individual may experience the simplicity and complexity of problems which will
then lead to internal self-growth. By this, an individual would attain the highest form of
contentedness needed to have a healthy lifestyle. Sociology also defines the necessity
of social institution and relevance of social hierarchy. In sociology the ideas of values,
manners, rules and laws that were established by the community is being highlighted.
Therefore, this particular knowledge could act as a support in building a righteous
community having its values and rules as its core component to provide healthy and
fair judgement. This knowledge also helps in upholding public equality- to orient
human about the uniqueness of their own experiences and how the different patterns
of behaviors, process and experiences lead to disparities in living outcome.
Political science is a classical discipline that deals with the study of political
phenomena. It centers to deepen human understanding of the nature of political action
in developing phenomenal tools for interpreting science in the means of politics. The
knowledge in this discipline is essential in having political perspective on any aspect
of human life. Thus, this gives humanity the rights for political quality which centers on
freedom, power and equality. Having this particular knowledge is essential in
determining one’s rights, responsibility and identity as a part of a political community.
The creation of political government in today’s time has played a huge impartment to
humanity’s life. The political viewpoints of each individual reflect on how well the
government is playing its part. Political science provides a systematic way in
addressing opinions and views to the government whether if it’s for criticism or
commendation. This is essential in order to have an active involvement in the society
as well as to know the weight of the issue the government is taking part of. With the
knowledge of political science, the public is much more aware of their political
capabilities as individuals. In this field, not only the public is educated but more
importantly those people who are in position. The knowledge in this field is tailor-fitted
for those individuals who are in power, for them to create a better society and to
address the public’s problem practically, efficiently and politically.
The disciplines above are the fields of social sciences which is essential in
understanding the activities of humanity with its physical and social environment. It
demonstrated the biological, physical, sociological relations of humans scientifically. It
examined humans individually as well as the significance of its relationship between
the society in everyday life. Thus, the relationship of these three fields has solved the
complex quest of humanity.
