The purpose of this memo is to offer a candid description of how effectively the team
collaborated this semester. This memo also serves the opportunity to improve participation for
the team members in the future projects For clarity, the performance review section has been
divided into 3 parts: Team Performance, Self-Performance, Member Performance. The team
performance describes how well the team has worked together. It focusses on the main strengths
and weaknesses the team possess. Besides that, this section further elaborates on some problems
faced during the project and how the team overcame those. Details contributions of the team
members has been listed that added towards the organization, content, and deliveries of the
project.
The self-performances section describes how effectively I have fulfilled each of the learning
outcomes as specified in the course syllabus. I have also included my most valuable contribution
towards the team that added to the organization, content, and delivery of this semester’s project.
Lastly, the member section describes the single most valuable contribution of each member of
the team. Also, this section, each member has been further assigned a score from 0-5 points for
their performance in the team.
Team Performance
Team as a whole-
Team worked collaboratively with the members. Everyone tried within their best ability to
develop excellent communication skills and attitudes. The work was fairly distributed amongst
the team members and team members were also reliable to complete the project.
1. Creativity:
Our team members applied creative ways to complete the project and make recordings of the
presentation as it was done through loom recordings. Since our schedules were opposite so we
could not sit and record the whole presentation at once. Aidan edited the sound qualities, joined
the whole presentation after part by part was recorded individually. Besides that, the other
members continuously suggested innovative ideas about how to improve the quality of the
presentation, project and needs assessment memo.
2. Adaptability:
The team quickly adapted to the changes needed to make better quality of work. Besides that, we
have always responded well to constructive criticisms from the instructor through various
situations. If the work was not up to the standard, we made sure we worked double the times
necessary to resubmit the assignments after fixing errors. Also, despite the busy schedules, most
our team members willingly adjusted their schedules to be available for team meetings whenever
needed.
3. Communication:
Our team Clearly communicated ideas and thoughts in team meetings and conferences. Most of
our team members are constructive communicator who discussed difficult issues effectively on
point.
The main problem that the team faced during the completion of the project is when one of the
member Aidan had to unexpectedly take off due to his medical surgery. His work was left
incomplete. To make up for his lost time, we had to work extra hard on our parts so we can
present a good project even without his contribution. Also, another major challenge faced by our
team was when I had to miss few classes due to a court hearing I had to appear during the
semester. However, as our team members were cooperative, so I was able to catch up to the
work.
Solution and strategies from the charter:
Missed Deadlines:
Throughout the project, we have implemented a few strategies from the tam charter on missing
deadlines and unacceptable work policy. There few times, team members missed the deadlines or
simply did not provide quality work. In that case, the project manager sent reminders to the team
member. If he/she did not respond within 24 hours, the project manager let the instructor and
other team members know about the situation. For extenuating circumstances, the project
manager asked for other team members’ input on how to proceed.
Unacceptable Works:
If a team member submitted unacceptable work that does not meet the team goals such as leaving
out essential information, other team members contacted the project manager. The project
manager ed contact the negative contributor with the list of concerns, and a new deadline to
submit the improved work. If the person was confused about why his/her work is of inadequate
quality, the project manager gave suggestions or any help about the assignment. If the
disagreement persisted about the quality of work, the other team members were asked to put in
their input to improve the work.

Self-performance
I gained so much knowledge throughout the course of the term, including things as: how to draft a
proper research paper, how to organize a team project, and how to conduct research for technical
proposals. This course helped me to improve my presentation skills for several types of audiences
present. Being the project manager for the team, it helped me to collaborate with my team
members in a more efficient manner. I learnt how to coordinate, schedule within a team, and
supply a solution within my best ability when we had a problem. I learnt different techniques on
how to write effectively, create visuals including texts, PowerPoints slides for the writing. One of
my most important goal was to improve my leadership skills from this course. Working in this
group project has helped me to achieve that goal as I was the project manager for the project. I
have learnt many ways to design presentations using a collaborative process that includes
coordinating tasks and schedules within a team. I developed a flexible process of generating and
organizing information and ideas, I provided feedbacks and responded my team members
questions promptly. I developed new problem-solving skills as needed when working in the
team. I mastered the art of active listening and offer my solution when my teammates when they
needed help. All these tasks helped me to meet my personal goal to improve my leadership skills.
My single most valuable contribution towards the organization of this project was to create hard
and soft deadlines which held the team members accountable for their parts of work. It helped
the team being more organized as everyone was on the same page when it came to working as a
team. As discussed on the team charter, I handled reaching out to the team members if they
missed a deadline or not submitted quality work. My role as a project manager immensely helped
the team to stay organized. In terms of content and delivery my contribution, my most important
contribution was to assign the roles of each researchers. I sorted out the tasks needed to be done,
the materials needed to be researched to the team members. After discussing with the team
members, I distributed the work which everybody was comfortable doing therefore, our team
made substantial progress when to working towards the research and the project deliverables.
Member’s Performance:
1. Dwayne:
Dwayne has made significant contribution towards the content and delivery of the project. His
best contribution for the team is communication with the members. He stayed up to date with the
assignment deadlines, called for meetings when needed. When the project manager was not
available, Dwayne took the leadership for the team and reported to the project manager. His
communication skills helped the team to stay organized, create good contents for the team.
Score: 4/5
Reason: For his ability to communicate, organize, always meeting deadlines, and leadership
skills he gets 4/5.
2. Joseph:
Joseph’s most significant contribution was to create his original criteria chart based off his
research. It improved the content of our project. No significant contribution from Joseph in terms
of organization and deliveries but however, he was not a negative contributor.
Score:3/5
Reason: Joseph has been punctual, sincere to complete his part of the assignment. He did not
miss any deadlines, but the work given was always the last minute, so we did not have enough
time to go over details. It is understandable he had to manage school a full-time employment, but
the quality of the work was always average. That is why he gets 3/5
3. Aidan:
Aidan’s most significant contribution was to edit the audio recordings for the presentation. That
improved the quality of our deliveries. Aidan was very thorough with his part of the research and
created practical solutions on how to improve online learning. In this way, he made significant
contributions towards the content of the project.
Score: 3.5/5
Reason: Aidan was a negative contributor as he missed few deadlines. Other team members
complained to the project manager for his lack if contribution, and not showing up on several
meetings. After the project manager discussed with aid and he improved the quality of work
remarkably and everyone agreed he had the best content amongst all 4 of us. That’ is why he gets
3.5/4
4. Ayesha:
Score: 3.75/5
My single most valuable contribution towards the organization of this project was to create hard
and soft deadlines which held the team members accountable for their parts of work. It helped
the team being more organized as everyone was on the same page when it came to working as a
team. As discussed on the team charter, I handled reaching out to the team members if they
missed a deadline or not given quality work. My role as a project manager immensely helped the
team to stay organized. In terms of content and delivery my contribution, my most important
contribution was to assign the roles of each researchers. I sorted out the tasks needed to be done,
the materials needed to be researched to the team members. After discussing with the team
members, I distributed the work which everybody was comfortable doing therefore, our team
made prompt progress when to working towards the research and the project deliverables.
Reason: As a project manager I have slipped off my duties a few times due to personal reasons
and other involvements. However, I managed to keep my team organized together, and get our
work done on time. I was not a negative contributor. Have dedicated enough time to supply
quality work from my part and behalf of the team. Most of our assignments have received good
grades. However, I fully believe I could have provided more effort towards this project if I were
not distracted with other involvements. Therefore, I give myself 3.75/5
Conclusion:
From the experience I gained working on this project, I would be happy to work with this team
also in future projects. All the team members had lots of potential and were enthusiastic about
the project. We had effective communication amongst all of us, hence we were always on the
same page when it came to meeting our deadlines. This team was understanding and respectful
of each other's times. The members were in general cooperative if someone could not meet any
deadlines and provided understanding towards their situations. The team members were
supportive towards anyone who did not meet the deadlines and helped them to get the work done
without any judgement or criticism. A few things I learnt working this semester on this team is
that communication is an important part of teamwork. All the members need to be open with one
another when feeling confused and lost.
Reflecting on my experience with teamwork this semester, I learned to be more open, to ask
others to be more open, and not to take critique so personally whether it is coming from a team
member or instructor. It is important to face constructive criticism for self-development and
better performance. Being a better communicator and able to take criticisms are important traits
that can make my performance better working in my future team projects.
