Arguments For Mosi

This document discusses arguments for and against banning teenagers from using Facebook and legalizing the sale of human organs. The pro side for banning Facebook use argues it would reduce wasted time on social media, increase face-to-face socializing, decrease online disputes, reduce money wasted on data, and limit promiscuity and spread of personal data due to security issues. However, the contra side notes Facebook allows staying connected with family and friends, finding new connections, sharing important updates and information, learning business skills, and developing social and communication abilities. ARGUMENTS FOR MOSI

1. BAN TEENAGERS FROM USING FaceBook (Melarang Remaja Belasan Tahun

Menggunakan FB), Social media is important for students (Sosial media itu penting
untuk pelajar),
The keyword are Ban and Teenager. According to Oxford Learner’s Pocket Dictionary
Ban is Forbid something officially. And,
Teenager is Person who is between 13 to 19 y.o.
Facebook as Social Media

In April 2010, according to The New York Times, Indonesia has become the
country with the second largest number of Facebook users in the world after the
United States with 24 million users or 10% of the total population of Indonesia. (Pada
April 2010, menurut The New York Times, Indonesia telah menjadi negara dengan jumlah

A research conducted by Yahoo's social networking site in Indonesia reported

that the biggest users of the internet in Indonesia were teenagers aged 15-19 years at
64%.)
Team Pro (Setuju)
This house believe that we should ban teenagers from use FB. Because there will be a
lot of negative effects. Like:
1. Can make teenagers waste their time. For students, they can forget about their
homework or study as students. (Membuang waktu belajar)
2. Less socializing face to face. Like be a loner and not care about the people
around them. (Kurang bersosialisasi secara langsung)
3. Prone to disputes, usually due to post status issues. (Perselisihan)

According of the Indonesian Child Protect Commission (KPAI) in Education

Retno Listyarti admit that many underage children are used to using devices and
social media in their daily lives. Like Facebook or Twitter. (Komisioner Indonesian
kehidupan sehari-hari. Seperti Facebook atau Twitter.)

Based on information from the Bogor Police Chief Andi M Dicky Pastika. The
perpetrator allegedly injured the victim using a sharp weapon. Allegedly because
of mutual taunts on social media (Friday 24 November 2017). (berdasarkan
(Jumat 24 November 2017)).
4. Wasteful money to buy a packet of data to be kept online. I think. The current
generation must have experienced it (Boros)
5. Promiscuity. (Pergaulan bebas)

According to Secretary of the National Child Protection Commission Aris

Merdeka Sirait said that from January to mid-February 2010 there were around
38 cases related to Facebook. A total of 21 cases of commercial sexual sales
through Facebook took place in Surabaya, he said.

1
"While the other 11 cases are in Jakarta also use Facebook. Children aged 14
to 15 years old are used as an outlet for people's biological needs," Merdeka
Sirait said.

Also added were six other cases through Facebook being victims of sexual
abuse (Source: BBC Indonesian News). (Menurut Sekjen Komisi Perlindungan
Anak Nasional Aris Merdeka Sirait mengatakan dari Januari sampai pertengahan
Februari 2010 terdapat sekitar 36 kasus terkait Facebook. Sebanyak 21 kasus
Anak-
anak berusia 14 tahun dan 15 tahun dijadikan pelampiasan kebutuhan biologis
orang," ujar Merdeka Sirait.
Ditambahkan pula ada enam kasus lainnya melalui Facebook menjadi korban
pelecehan seksual (Sumber: Berita BBC Indonesia)).
6. Spread of personal data. Moreover, Facebook is easy to hack. (Tersebarnya
data pribadi)
A group of hackers exploited a series of bugs that opened access to 30
million Facebook accounts. This burglary allows hackers to take over their
accounts and open access to third-party applications that use log in Facebook.
For this case, Facebook said it was working with the FBI to identify the
perpetrators. (Source: Kompas.
(Sumber: Kompas.Com)).
Some of the above are very important to note. That is why This house believe that Ban
teenagers from using Facebook. Okay. That’s all, thank you.
Team Contra (Tidak setuju)
This House Believe that if we ban teenagers to use facebook, young generation will loss
their chance to more know of the world. Because use Facebook can give teenagers
positive impact too, like:
1. Stay Connected
Usually of user use Facebook for still comunication with they family or freinds.
(Komunikasi dengan keluarga dan teman)
2. Wider Connection
They can find new friends from various regions. (Memperoleh koneksi dari berbagai
daerah)
3. As Reminders
Facebook can remind someone of important activities such as family or friends'
birthdays. Make strengthen friendship (Mengingatkan hari penting seperti ulang
tahun keluarga atau teman)
4. Information Source
Facebook can provide information sources through an official community
that we visit. Make us update. (Memberikan kita sumber informasi melalui akun resmi
atau grub resmi)
5. Business
They can easily learn to do business online through Social media. Cause,
now is the era of the millennial generation, can not distance social media. (Belajar
bisnis melalui facebook; online shop)
6. Teens Can Learn to Keep Themselves Safe
A study by the Pew Research Center revealed that 60% of Facebook users
aged 12-17 set their profiles to private. While that means that many still need to
2
tighten up their security, it shows that the majority of teenagers are aware of the
benefits of online security. (Remaja belajar untuk melindungi dirinya sendiri dengan
memprivat akun mereka)
7. Social Media Can Be an Educational Resource
Social Media Develops Social and Communication Skills. Social media can
help teenagers who might struggle to communicate offline. (Mengembangkan
Keterampilan Sosial dan Komunikasi)
8. A place to Explore Creativity
Indirectly, writing status, sharing photos or videos on Facebook can
increase teenagers' creativity.
9. Opportunities Presented for Thinking and Critical Assessment (Berfikir kritis)
10. Teens Can Expand Their Worldview (Memperluar sudut pandang)
11. Inspiration and Support (Sebagai inpirasi dan dukungan)
12. Social media can help strengthen friendships and protect friendships. (Melindungi
pertemanan)
13. Increase self-confidence (Meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, melalui support from friends of
facebook)

We cannot just see from one view instead, and that is why we don’t agree with the Ban of
teenagers from using Facebook. Okay, that’s all. Thank you.

2. Legalizing the sale of human organs (Melegalkan penjualan ogan manusia)

The keyword is Legalize, Human, and Organ

Legalize is make something ilegal
Human is adj, of people
Organ is part of the body (eyes, kidney, heart, et cetera.)

Pro Team

This House Believe that Legalizing the sale of human organs it’s bad. Because a lot of negative
impacts will be caused.
1. Breaking the law. According to law no.36 Article 64 paragraph (3) of 2009, which
states that organs and or tissues of the body are prohibited from being traded on any
pretext. (Hukum yang mengatur tentang larangan jual-beli organ)
2. Breaking human rights (Melanggar HAM)
3. Trafficking in organs is a human trafficking and includes transnational crime by the
United Nations. (Merupakan kejahatan internasional oleh PBB)
4. Human exploitation. (Eksploitasi manusia)
5. Eliminating the lives of donors, this is because the average hospital that initiates
illegal organ trafficking rarely has adequate facilities. (Menghilangkan nyawa orang lain,
dan rumah sakit ikut terlibat)
6. Often there is an incompatibility of organs received by the recipient. (Sering terjadi
ketidakcocokkan organ)
7. Make donors unable to live normally. (Membuat pendonor tidak dapat hidup normal)
8. The number of cases of theft of organs in both living and dead bodies. (Maraknya
9. Popping groups / mafia thieves of body organs. (Munculnya kelompok mafia pencuri
organ)

Some of the above are very important to note. Okay, it’s all. Thank you.
3
Contra Team

This house believe that Legalize the sale of human organ will also have a positive impact.
Like:
1. Can save someone's life (Menyelamatkan nyawa seseorang)
Sally Satel, a psychiatrist and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute
said that we must compensate people who are willing to provide kidneys to
foreigners, to save the lives of others.
2. Can reduce crime related to trafficking in organs human (Mengurangi kriminalitas)
3. Improve the welfare of donors and recipients. (Mensejahterakan kedua belah pihak)
4. Reduce the waiting period that patients must experience at this time (Mengurangi
waktu tunggu pasien)
5. Assisting countries and hospitals in handling organ transplants (Membantu negara

We cannot just see from one view instead, some of the above are very important to note.
And We still agree for Legalize the sale of human organ. Okay, it’s all. Thank you.

3. The government should control internet access

The keyword are government, control, internet, and access

Government is group of people who govern a country or state
Control is power to make decisions about how a coun try, an organation
Internet is international computer network connecting other networks and computers from
companies
Access is open a computer file in order to get or add information

Pro Team

This house believe that the government should control internet access. Because there will be
many positive impacts that we will receive, like:
1. This creates an opportunity to set limits on common sense.
High-profile cases, such as the murders of Alison Parker and Adam Ward,
were broadcast on-air and then a first-person video of the event made its way
through social circles afterwards. Restricting this content sets a common-
sense limit on the content that be viewed.
sensor)
2. It limits access to harmful activities. (Membatasi akses kegiatan berbahaya)
Can limit content in the form of pornography and black market links that sell
drugs or organs.
3.  It could lessen the impact of identity theft. (Mengurangi kasus pencurian identitas)
NBC News reports that more US citizens were victims of identity theft in 2016
than any year before. More than 15,4 million reports of identity theft were
compiled by Javelin Strategy and Research, which reflects a 16% increase in
the total number of reports from 2015 figures. Restricting content that would
allow identity information to be easily shared could lessen the impact that
identity theft causes to a society. (NBC News melaporkan bahwa lebih banyak
warga AS yang menjadi korban pencurian identitas pada tahun 2016 dibandingkan
tahun sebelumnya.
4. It may provide a positive impact on national security. (Melindungi keamanan negara
dari peretasan)
By creating internet censorship regulations with strict and mandatory
penalties for a violation, it could become possible to reduce the number of
hacking incidents that occur.

According to REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Crime attacks on networks in

Indonesia by hackers since three years ago until August 2015 have cost the
country Rp. 33.29 billion

"In the past three years there have been 36.6 million crime attacks in the
network, and the total loss value for the past three years has reached Rp 33.29
billion," said Deputy Director of Economic and Special Crime at the Indonesian
Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Senior Commissioner Setya in Jakarta,
Tuesday (8/25).
In the data "Security Threat 2013" also mentioned that Indonesia was still
classified as vulnerable to attacks by hackers, Agung Setya said. (Peretasan
merugikan Indonesia sebesar Rp 36.6 miliar)

5. It stops fake news

Control internet access would provide another level of discernment which
could possibly stop divisive incidents that are based on events that never
occurred (Hoax) (Menghentikan berita palsu)
Some of the above are very important to note. Okay, it’s all. Thank you.

Contra Team

This house believe that if the government should control internet access it will have a negative
effect, such as:
1. It stops information. (Menghentikan informasi)
Although fake information can be restricted through internet censorship, so can
real information
2. It is a costly process. (Merupakan proses yang mahal)
According to research from Darrell West, VP and Director of Governance Studies
and the founding director of the Center for Technology Innovation at Brookings,
internet shutdowns cost countries $2.4 billion in 2015. The decision to cut
connectivity in Egypt came at a cost of $90 million. Censoring content is costly
and it will come at the expense of taxpayers.
3. It provides a negative economic impact. (Merugikan ekonomi)
This will be very detrimental to the online trading industry because of restrictions
on internet access by the government.

Like the case in China, in April, the US government officially classified it as a trade
barrier, noting that eight of the 25 most globally traded sites are now blocked
here. The American Chamber of Commerce in China said that 4 of its 5 member
companies reported negative impacts on their business from internet censorship.
(Source: The Washington Post).
4. It prevents individuals from accessing a freedom of expression. (Membatasi
kebebasan berekspresi)
5
A free internet allows individuals to post what they want. It gives them the chance
to freely express their thoughts, opinions, and views. Laws may already exist in
many jurisdictions that would allow for the prosecution of individuals who share
illegal content already, such as child pornography, so placing additional
restrictions would simply create another layer of

In 1984 by George Orwell, people in this dystopian environment were tightly

controlled so that certain social outcomes could occur. Once people in this
society begin to find love, they find the truth. That truth prevents them from living
in ignorance. With internet censorship, there is a lack of truth in such policies.
That means there is social ignorance in a place that can be controlled by the
ruling party.

Note: dystopian is anonim of utopia

Definition:
Adj of or pertaining to or resembling a dystopia
Adj as bad as can be; characterized by human misery
“"AIDS is one of the dystopian harbingers of the global villages"- Susan Sontag”
Some of the above are also very worthy of consideration. Thanks

4. TV actually teaches violence to children

Pro Team

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Commission for Child

Protection (Komnas PA), Seto Mulyadi or familiarly called Kak Seto, revealed "Based on
data from the Ministry of Communication and Information, television shows that can
educate only 0.7 percent, the rest contain something that is not educational," in its
activities parenting activities at Nusaputra Semarang School on Monday (11/1/2015).

This house believe that TV actually teaches violence to children, here is the evidence we
have gathered:
1. Children's entertainment program shows that violence
is present in the form of soap operas or cartoons. What is widely talked about
by television viewers now is the soap opera "Si Biang Kerok Cilik" on SCTV.
Nurvina Alifa from Remotivi reported monitoring on seven episodes in
December 2012. The soap opera shows students laughing at their teacher,
even the teacher himself also commits acts of violence in giving punishment
(Remotivi, 24/4 and Tabloid Bintang, 25/4). (Tayangan program hiburan anak
6
2. The cartoon program of Crayon Sinchan and Spongebob as a spectacle for
children shows quite a lot of violent shows (Atin Yakutin, 2011). In Crayon
Sinchan, verbal violence appears in the form of ridicule by Sinchan's friends.
Even worse, there was a scene where Sinchan's mother hit Sinchan's head.
The figure of the mother who should be an example of good behavior for
adults has been damaged by this show. Spongebob is actually a spectacle that
is less suitable for children because of its innocence. What's more, its position
which is always a victim of bullying involves scenes of violence perpetrated by
other characters. For example, when Spongebob was captured by Mister Crab,
also when mocked and kicked by his best friend, Patrick. The relationship
between work and friendship manifested in violence is not really a good
inspiration for children. (Program kartun Crayon Sinchan dan Spongebob sebagai
tontonan anak-anak cukup banyak memperlihatkan tayangan kekerasan (Atin
Yakutin, 2011). Dalam Crayon Sinchan, kekerasan verbal muncul dalam bentuk
ejekan yang dilakukan teman Sinchan. Lebih parah lagi, pernah ada adegan ibu
Sinchan memukul kepala Sinchan.
baiknya, Patrick. Hubungan pekerjaan dan persahabatan yang diwujudkan dalam
tindak kekerasan sungguh bukan inspirasi yang bagus buat anak-anak.)
3. News programs also attract children's attention as television shows. News
programs and reality shows are programs that should receive serious
attention in their shows because of the weight of facts believed to be
happening by the public (children) who are still limited in their understanding.
Shows of violence that often appear are criminal news that are often reviewed
in more depth and detail. Breaking Newspun often displays images related to
violence. In addition, the large number of television stations makes
competition for presenting special and exclusive shows that ultimately forget
the importance of avoiding violent shows. (Selain program hiburan, acara berita
pentingnya menghindari tayangan kekerasan.)

4. Reality show, which means presenting real events, often in episodes

presenting violent shows. Whether it ended up being an engineering scene or
not, physical and verbal violence was always present so as to reap public
protests and become KPI's attention. One of the protests was aimed at the
"Tukar Nasib" reality show on Indosiar. Sunday's episode (21/4) featured a
scene of anger due to a wrong order and the person slammed the item in front
of a minor child (Epriliana, 2013). (Reality show, yang artinya menyajikan kejadian
nyata, sering dalam episodenya menghadirkan tayangan kekerasan. Entah akhirnya
Salah satu protes
ditujukan pada reality show “Tukar Nasib” di Indosiar. Episode Minggu (21/4)

7
Influence on children (Pengaruhnya pada anak)

Childhood is an unstable age and in the process of seeking self-identity so

that imitation attitudes occupy the highest portion of their lives (Marwan,
2008). By looking at violent shows on entertainment and news programs,
children tend to consider these actions to be emulated if there is no assistance
from parents and other adults. But because of the busyness of the parents,
sometimes children are left to watch alone with full power over the remote
which frees them to choose the channel. Based on the theory of social
learning, children learn through observation and modeling, which is offered
free by television.

Research in the United Kingdom (Hough and Erwin, 1997) shows that watching
violence on television increases aggression in children. In addition to imitating
actions, this study also found that children who watched violence would lose
their comfort and safety, always be suspicious and not confident. Apart from
that violence shows can shape the stereotypical behavior of children in certain
community groups.
kelompok masyarakat tertentu.)

Some cases of the influence of violent shows on television on children have

been found in Indonesia. An eight-year-old child throws glasses and plates
because of Joshua's example in the soap opera "Anak Ajaib" (Digest, 2005). In
2006, a child was killed in Bandung for practicing the Smackdown television
program. A 12-year-old child died allegedly for practicing magic tricks on
television (Kompas, 2009). These cases are limited to icebergs, only a few are
published. Events in everyday society must be many that have not been
revealed.
mempraktekkan program televisi Smackdown. Anak usia 12 tahun meninggal diduga

In Indonesia television stations specifically for children are only found on paid
cable TV channels. Families in Australia are lucky because there is a national
television station for children that can be watched for free. In 2009, the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) established a television station
specifically for children named ABC3 for ages 6-15 years and ABC4Kids for
pre-school age. The types of events vary, from comedy to history. Children can
watch this channel safely because the rules of television programs in Australia
8
are very strict, only allowing shows for children based on Parental Guidance
and All Age classifications.
tahun 2009, The Australian Broadcasting Coorporation(ABC), mendirikan stasiun
saja.)

Rules for broadcasting in the BO and SU categories also apply to family hours
for other public television channels in Australia, including in the UK, America
and Europe. These countries also provide parental lock facilities or parental
censorship in special machines connected to television. But this facility is not
the best solution because children can go watch television at a friend's house
or try to change machines when parents are not at home. (Aturan penayangan

When parents are helpless by bombarding violent shows on television,

especially in children's programs, and censorship facilities are not sufficiently
helpful, the role of the community that responds to this broadcast and raises it
into discussion is very important. The presence of NGOs, such as Remotivi,
and websites that accept public complaints to be forwarded to KPI is expected
to reduce impressions that are not educational. In addition, parents can give
children a direct understanding of violence that is accidentally watched. This
method can be a place for learning children to think critically about shows that
educate themselves. The school can also provide classroom discussion space
about television programs that can support cognitive development. Even
children are more confident in choosing good shows for themselves. (Ketika

This house believe that TV actually not teaches violence to children. Because TV
also contains positive impressions for children, such as:
1. . Education is also obtained from television (Memberikan Edukasi bagi anak)
Besides being able to make people sensitive, it turns out watching TV can
make us learn about the diversity that is broadcast. As an example of an event
9
about adventure and natural beauty that allows us to learn to see this world
more interesting to listen to.

2. Television is an entertainment tool and news source that provides audio and
visual shows which are certainly more modern than radio and other news
sources such as magazines and newspapers or newspapers. (Televisi
3. Television is a source of entertainment and news that is cheap, clear, and
pleasing to the eye, compared to magazines, newspapers or newspapers.
dipandang, dibandingkan majalah, surat kabar ataupun koran.)
4. For children television provides benefits as entertainment and refreshes the
mind. When they feel bored and late because they always study and go to
school. So by watching TV it is hoped that children can return to freshness
and enthusiasm in learning and going back to school. (Bagi anak-anak televisi
memberikan manfaat sebagi hiburan dan refresh pikiran. Ketika mereka merasa
bersekolah kembali.)
5. For children television shows can also be useful as a source of material for
certain subjects that sometimes require television as the source.

KPI appreciates seven children's programs and cartoons that are considered
to provide inspiration and rich educational content for children. The shows
were Dora The Explorer (Global TV), Adit Sopo Jarwo (MNC TV), Si Unyil
Laptop (Trans 7), Curious George (ANTV), Thomas and Friends (Global TV),
Unyil Around the World (Trans 7), and Disney Junior (MNC TV). (Laksono Hari
Widodo) (Source: Tribunnews.com).

6. Can learn to empathize with someone (Belajar berempati dari tayangan yang
ditonton)
In television shows sometimes there are scenes that make us touched. And
this actually makes us able to learn to empathize with the people around us,
besides that we can be sensitive to someone's feelings.

7. Add creativity (Menambah kreativitas melalui tontonan)

In television shows usually present information that is useful to us as well as
about cooking info. In it a lot of food menus are simple and give a special taste
for those who see their food. This can also be a creativity to develop ideas in
making it.

8. Add insight (Menambah wawasan)

Watching television turns out to add to our knowledge. Like when you see a
story in it, there are many social, political and all kinds of issues. And this can
also add to our insight, of course.

(Source: IDN.Times)

We believe that TV also provides a lot of knowledge and entertainment that can
enhance children's insight and creativity.

6. Fullday System School
Pro Team

This House Believe that Fullday System School cause:

1. Children will get a deeper understanding of subject matter. (Anak akan

mendapatkan pengertian materi pelajaran secara lebih mendalam.)
2. Through practical and extracurricular lessons, children will more easily recognize
their talents and abilities so far.
3. Children will remain under school supervision until evening / evening, so parents
do not need to worry about activities carried out by children after school. (Anak
4. Children will feel emotional closeness with their friends and teachers at school.
5. Children can do assignments at school and do questions and answers with
teachers about material that is not understood.
dimengerti.)
6. The number of early marriages and dropout rates can be reduced due to the
overall interaction and supervision of the school (Jumlah pernikahan dini serta

To strengthen the argument, we have gathered the opinions of experts on this matter:

According to UGM public policy observer, Prof. Muhadjir Darwin, seeing full-day school
discourse as a positive plan because it is suitable for the development of children's
character, especially there is moral degradation and crisis among young people in these
times.

"The idea of a full-day school is feasible to be adopted to minimize negative influences

from outside the school. "Children will have more guided activities and character
development and education," he said, Friday (12/8) at UGM. (Pengamat kebijakan publik

One of the reasons parents choose and enter their children to full day school is in terms
of student education (Bahruddin, 2010: 230). Many reasons why full day school is a choice
include:

1. The increasing number of parent careers who give less attention to their children,
especially those related to children's activities after returning home from school.
(Meningkatnya jumlah orangtua yang bekerja (parent-career) yang kurang memberikan

11

2. Socio-cultural changes that occur in society, from agrarian societies to industrial

societies. These changes clearly affect the mindset and perspective of society. The
progress of science and technology is so rapid development, especially communication
technology and information on urban living environment that leads to individualism.
individualisme.)

3. The progress of science and technology is so fast that if it is not examined, we will
become victims, especially victims of communication technology. With the increasingly
sophisticated developments in the world of communication, the world seems to be
borderless world, with many television programs and the proliferation of television
stations making children more enjoy sitting in front of the television and playing play
stations (PS).

The existence of the changes above is an important signal to find an alternative solution. From
such conditions, finally education practitioners think hard to formulate a new paradigm
in the world of education.

Full day school aims to develop education quality management, the most important of
which is full day school aimed at one of the efforts to foster students' faith and morals
and instill positive values. Full day school also provides a strong basis for learning in all
aspects, namely intellectual, physical, social and emotional development. As Seli (2009:
62-63) says that "the time to educate students in a full day school system is more so that
it is not just a theory, but practice getting more time proportion. So that education is not
only mineed theory but the application of science ". Therefore, for all to be
accommodated, the full day school program curriculum is designed to reach each part of
the student's development. (Full day school selain bertujuan mengembangkan manajemen
Full day school juga
agar semua terakomodir, maka kurikulum program full day school didesain untuk menjangkau
masing-masing bagian dari perkembangan siswa.)

Okay, That’s all. Thanks.

Contra Team

We dont agree because:

1. Children tend to become easily tired and have difficulty concentrating during class
hours.
pelajaran berlangsung.)

2. Costs incurred will be greater, so that children from poor parents tend to find it
difficult to provide additional costs such as pocket money and teacher fees.

Another Kalimantan DPRD member, Tatau Arnold Pisy, stated that in the implementation
of a full day scholarship, there must be additional programs carried out by the
government. For example, providing for the cost of lunch for students at school.
(Menyediakan makan siang) So as to reduce the burden on parents."If for parents who can
afford it is not a problem. But for the less fortunate it is certainly an obstacle. It must
also be a concern," he said.

3. Children must have a shorter sleep time because they have to go back to school in the
morning.

4. Children's interactions with their social environment outside the school are reduced.

5. Communication of children with parents is reduced due to the amount of time they
spend with people in their school environment.
lingkungan sekolahnya.)

6. Children cannot participate in other activities such as taking art lessons, swimming,
knowing religion and so on.

According to the Executive Board of Nadhlatul Ulama (PBNU) "Viewed from the
perspective of the new five-day eight-day school policy regulation full day school is
contrary to the Constitution 51 of the National Education System Constitution, and
teacher work as stipulated in Article 35 of the Law on Teachers and Lecturers , " (Menurut
Pengurus Besar Nadhlatul Ulama (PBNU) "Dilihat dari perspektif regulasi kebijakan baru lima
hari sekolah delapan jam sehari full day school bertentangan dengan Undang-Undang Dasar

Accompanied by all administrators, including PBNU Secretary General Helmy Faishal,

Said read out points of rejection of the Full Day School:

1. Teacher's workload includes the main activities, namely planning the teaching,
carrying out learning, guiding and training students and carrying out additional tasks.
(Beban kerja guru mencakup kegiatan pokok yaitu merencanakan pengajaran, melaksanakan

13
2. The teacher workload as referred to in paragraph 1 is at least 24 hours face to face and
a maximum of 40 hours face to face in one week. So the 5-day school policy, 8 hours of
school study has the potential to have a large number of teacher teaching hours in
schools exceeding the limits stipulated in the intended law. (Beban kerja guru

3. Through the in-depth study and intensive monitoring that we have done, the facts in
the field indicate that the majority of schoos are not ready in order to accept this 5-day
school or 8-hour policy. The readiness concerns many things, including related facilities
that support the five-day school policy / 8 hours of Full Day School learning. (Lewat kajian
kebijakan lima hari sekolah/8 jam belajar Full Day School.)

4. Reasons for applying 5 school days / 8 hours of learning based on the assumption that
urban children who are left full day by their parents, have been worried that falling into
promiscuity is not entirely true. Because in reality big cities in Indonesia do not
completely abandon the religious values that have been going on so far. (Alasan

5. Not all parents of students work a full day, especially those in remote areas working as
farmers and fishermen who are half the time in a day. Still the time can be used by their
children to study. It is not always synonymous with the school of social interaction of
students with the environment, where they live also part of the process of character
education, so that they are not entangled in the traditional values of traditions and habits
that have developed so far.

6. The generalizing action that all students experience periods alone in the middle of
waiting for their parents who are working is wrong. This answer goes from the majority
of urban people from urban areas, this assumption is from a false understanding that all
parents of students are office workers. Even though the number of urban people is only a
pinch, the rest are only those who work in the informal sector as farmers, traders, and so
on.

7. Given the high turmoil and unrest that occurred in the community above, with this
PBNU asked the President to revoke, cancel the 5-day school policy or Full Day School.
atau Full Day School.)
