Mini Lesson

Good day, kids! Welcome


back to our lesson on the “Plural
Form of Regular Nouns.”
Last time, we learned to
add-s to the regular noun to form
its plural. Today, we are going to
learn about changing regular
nouns to its plural form by adding
–es.

In the above example, we can see that we


add /es/ to the word tomato to change the noun
into plural.
Remember that we add es to singular
nouns that end in sh, ch, x, s, z and some that
end in o to form its plural.

Children, let us remember that most nouns form its
plural by adding /s/ to the end of its singular form. While,
nouns ending in sh, ch, x and s form their plural form by
adding es.

challenging way of forming the plural
form of some nouns.
Today, let’s learn how to change
irregular nouns to its plural form.
Most noun form their plural with a
few simple changes, such as adding “s”
or “es” to 8the end of the word. But there
are nouns that do not follow this rule.
This is what we call Irregular nouns.
There are rules to remember in
Irregular nouns form its plural by changing the vowels.

 For a variety of reasons, some nouns change its spelling
when turned to its plural form.
