Εισαγωγή / Introduction
Χαίρετε!
Did you just start learning Greek or maybe you are already more advanced,
but you would like to review the basic Greek vocabulary and grammar?
In this eBook, you will find the vocabulary together with the grammar covered
in the book “Communicate in Greek 1” (Επικοινωνήστε ελληνικά 1, εκδόσεις
Δέλτος), written by Kleanthes and Frosso Arvanitakis.
This eBook covers the vocabulary used in the first 12 lessons of the book 1.
However, the language book does not include a vocabulary list per lesson.
Over the years, many students asked us for such an option, because it helps
to study the required vocabulary, lesson by lesson.
With this eBook you get a good opportunity to refresh the basic vocabulary
per lesson, which you acquired during your first steps of learning Greek.
Of course, you can also use it in parallel with the course book.
This eBook covers lesson 1 – 12

not try to memorize words, which you believe you will never use, or
hardly use.

can: on the phone, on social media, when you meet Greek friends, in
a tavern etc.

GREEK VOCABULARY FOR BEGINNERS 1, lesson 1-12
Our students all have different reasons why they want to learn Greek, but they also
have one thing in common: they want to be able to speak Greek and communicate
with Greeks while learning more about the “real Greece”.
.
It is of major importance to us that you do not just learn vocabulary lists and
grammar, but you actually start speaking Greek from day one.
Finally, there is a reason why we chose the name “Omilo” for our school! The name
means “I speak” (today we use the simple form of “milao” (μιλάω) in modern Greek,
but we can still find the ancient form “omilo” in official standard phrases).
Learn Greek with a practical course, using daily vocabulary, expressions and
simple grammar rules, while learning more about the Greek Culture.
