Risk of accident!
− Priority must be given to the traffic.
− Only operate your air conditioner if the traffic situation allows it.
− Please make sure that all operation and indicating elements can be recognized and read
properly.
− Protect the displays and all indicating instruments against sun rays and other optical faults.
− Take into consideration that the keys at the operation panel are not designed for extreme
demands.
− Excessive or quick pressing of the keys for temperature adjustment does not accelerate the
cooling process but leads possibly to damage on the operation panel and spoils the total
functioning of your air conditioner.

3.5.3. Condenser coil

It is important to ensure that the fins of the condenser are clean. Heavy soiling causes
overpressure in the air-conditioning system and leads to the system shutting down prematurely.

Note!
Regular cleaning (blowing out with compressed air) should be performed. In heavy dirt conditions,
the capacitor bank must be checked daily for dirt and cleaned if necessary.

3.6. Compressor Sanden SD7H15

Type: SD7H15

Installation and start-up of the compressor have to be carried out conform to Sanden
guidelines.
The compressor is mounted on the engine of the vehicle which drives the compressor by a poly-v-
belt. It has to be taken care that the tension of the v-belt is correct.
When the air-conditioning system is switched on, the magnetic clutch is being activated and the
compressor is working.
When the air-conditioning system is switched off, the magnetic clutch works without being
activated.

Important:
To avoid leakages at the shaft seal of the compressor:
The compressor should be started every 4 weeks for approx. 15 minutes!
This also applies when the vehicle is not into operation for a longer period or when the air-
conditioning unit is not used!

EA78B28702A Edition: 23.02.2016 Page: 15/24

4. Air distribution
Air discharge openings are controlled via control unit in the fitting board.

Preset air flow:

• in heating operation, outlet floor and windshield / driver
• in air-conditioning operation, outlet ducts in the back wall of the cabin, windshield / driver
• according to the principle: cool head and warm feet

Note!
Air flow distribution can be adapted to the driver's needs. Only not all flaps can be closed, though.

4.1. Air intake

The air-conditioning unit is working with 10% fresh air.
Fresh air is also detachable, this clap is controlled via control board.

Important:
• There is a fresh-air and circulating air filter in the air intake box that must be cleaned at regular
intervals (see maintenance schedule for service intervals).
• Air flow in the air-conditioning heating unit is not possible when filters are soiled. Consequence:
the air-conditioning ices up and the system switches off.
• If the filters are not installed, the evaporator becomes soiled in a short time. And it is no longer
possible to clean the evaporator coil.

Switch off user. You can find out which fuse belongs to the unusual user with the help of the fuse
table. Please pull out the appropriate fuse. Replace the melted fuse (distinguishable by melted
metal strip) by a new one of the same strength.

Remark:
If the replaced fuse melts once again after a short time, the electrical units have to be checked
immediately by an authorized KONVEKTA – service station. Never “repair“ fuses! This might
cause other damage to the electrical system!

7. General information a/c unit
− A/C unit is only operating with running engine.
− In case of cooling, humidity in the interior part of the vehicle goes down which prevents misting
up of windows.
− The a/c unit works most effectively if windows and doors are closed. If interior room of the
vehicle is enormously warmed up, a short time opening of windows/doors might help to
accelerate cooling progress.
− In case of high outside temperature and high humidity it might be the case that condenses water
drips off condenser which causes a small water collection under the vehicle. This is quite normal
and no signal for leakage.
− The filter in the return air grid retains dirt. Circulated air adjustment should be chosen in case of
dirty gaseous air from outside. Elements of the return air grid have to be exchanged according
to the stipulated times of service plan in order to possibly avoid performance reduction of the a/c
system.
− In case of an eventual damage of the a/c unit - operation should immediately be
interrupted to avoid consequential damages. It’s recommended to contact one of
KONVEKTA’s Service Stations and the unit should first be taken into operation again
after it has been checked through specialists.
1 On our website www.konvekta.com in category >service< you will find a survey of contact details of all
our service partners close to your location.
Note:
We recommend driving with automatic mechanism..
Additionally to the automatic the following functions can be activated:
a) Fresh air flap manually, in order to prevent the entrance of exhaust fumes.
b) DEFROST function to defog the steamed up windshield

7.1. Determined use

The KONVEKTA Air-conditioning heating system represents an air-conditioning system that works
with the ozone friendly refrigerant R 134a and which creates a pleasant and individually adjustable
room temperature by means of forced convection. The determined use includes also the
observance of the Operating instruction and the proof of regular inspections as well
