STREET AND HIP-HOP DANCE

CONTENT STANDARD:
 Demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote
societal fitness
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
 Maintains an active lifestyle to influence the physical activity participation of the
community and society

LEARNING COMPETENCY/IES:
1. Engages in moderate to vigorous physical activities for at least 60 minutes a
day in and out of School.(PE10PF-11c-h-45)
2. Applies correct techniques to minimize risk of injuries(PE10PF-11c-h-56)
3. Expresses a sense of purpose and belongingness by participating in physical
activity related community services and programs that deal with physical
fitness; (PE10PF-11c-h-48)

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, 75% of the students shall have:
a. Identified the street and hip hop dance styles
b. Performed a routine using different street and hip hop dance styles
c. Expressed the importance of street and hip hop dance styles through
participating in activities to promote fitness
d. Valued the importance of street and hip-hop dance in our daily lives.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Street and Hip-hop dance
Reference:
Callo, Camilong, Yap, Cagulang. (2015). “Physical Eduaction and Health: Hip Hop and
Sreet Dance Styles”. (pp. 110 – 111). Vibal Group Incorporation.
Materials: Visual Aid, Puzzles (Cut out pictures), Projector and Laptop

B. MOTIVATIONAL ACTIVITY:

1. The students are grouped into 5 each group is given 1 puzzle.


2. Their task is to complete the puzzles in a given time.
3. Then each group must copy the gesture in the completed puzzles.

IV.ANALYSIS
 Analysis:
1. What can you infer in the activity?
2. What can you say about the pictures?
3. How can you describe the pictures?
4. How can you differentiate the pictures?
5. Based on the pictures, what are your predictions/guesses on what
is our lesson for today?
V. ABSTRACTION
1. Define street dance and hip-hop dance.
2. Discuss the dance styles of street dance and hip-hop dance.
3. Classify the different movements of street dance and hip-hop dance.

VI. APPLICATION

1. The students are grouped into five.


2. Each group is given 5-10 minutes to prepare a routine using street and hip hop dance
styles.
3. The group performs a routine using the hip hop dance styles.
