SCHOOL MONITORING, EVALUATION

AND ADJUSTMENT

(SMEA)

NOVEMBER 24, 2020

R.A. 9155 clearly defines shared governance as the management model in
the delivery of quality basic education. It specifies the functional areas to be
shared by the various levels of management as well as their differentiated roles.
The evolving roles of the schools are consistent with the national educational
policies, plans and standards. Through this the conduct of SMEA or the School
Monitoring, Evaluation and Adjustment is mandated at all levels. This is to provide
objective information that can inform decision-making for continuously improving
the organizational performance for efficient and effective fulfillment of the
division mandate and the delivery of education services to achieve the desired
output and sustainability of Education outcomes.
Spearheaded by our very own dynamic Teacher In-Charge, Rosvic D. Abeto,
the Taya-o Elementary School conducted the 4th Quarter SMEA conference last
November 24, 2020 at exactly 9:00 in the morning. Before the start of the
conference, our school was able to follow the health and safety protocol set by
the IATF or the Inter Agency Task Force under DepEd Order 14s 2020 or the
Guidelines on the Required Health Standards in Basic Education Offices and
Schools which ensure safe educational continuity amidst the challenges of COVID-
19. Upon entering the gate, visitors are required to wear facemask, do
handwashing, get their body temperature and sanitize their hands. They are also
able to maintain a physical distancing inside the conference room. The conference
started with an opening prayer lead by one of the PTA officials and followed by
the singing of national anthem. After which, Sir Denis M. Medez, a Grade-6
adviser was called to have an opening remark. It was then followed by the
School’s PTA President, Mr. Benedicto P. Ticon to gave his words of welcome.
The Teacher In-Charge of our school, Sir Rosvic D. Abeto, formally
presented the main agenda of the conference which was about SMEA. First, he
discussed about SMEA, the meaning and objective of it. He explained that, SMEA
has a tool that contains all the data requirements relative to the school
implementation of mandated processes and school-based initiated interventions
for continuous improvement. He also presented the status of the School’s
enrollment and the teachers’ workload at school and at home. The School’s
MOOE was also discussed, the projects of every quarter were also clarified as well
as the upcoming project that will soon to be accomplished. He then explained
everything about the reproduction and preparation of modules especially the
difficulty of hauling such modules. Lastly, he gave an update about the proposed
face to face classroom instruction. After his presentation, feedback and
recommendation was talked about between the officials and the teachers.
Enjoined by the supportive PTA officials, stakeholders, teachers and parents
the conference was a success and a productive one.
