Memorandum For : The Station Commander, PPD From : The Operation Section, PPD Subject : Narrative Report: Oplan Biayeng Ayos Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2021
In the implementation of the two-month long OPLAN Biyaheng Ayos Semana Santa & Summer Vacation 2021. The Philippine Ports Authority, PMO-Zamboanga provided tight security, efficient travel and an effective respond to the needs of the travelling public during the Lenten and Summer Season. Starting up, the PMO issued Public Advisories thru the setup of tarpaulins with emergency and hotline numbers in conspicuous areas such as the Passenger Terminal Building. The PMO also put up two (2) Malasakit Helpdesk to help passengers having trouble in understanding the set of guidelines being implemented before they are allowed to proceed to their travel, it has also served as an assistance desk for passengers needing aid such as wheelchair for the PWD, an area for breastfeeding mother and a coordinating desk for those in emergency. While DOTr attached agency such as the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and other law enforcement agencies like the Philippine National Police Maritime Group (PNP) together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Joint Task Force Zamboanga have implemented similar security measures to ensure the readiness of their respective organizations during the observance of the Holy Week/ Summer Vacation.
As an active participant in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, PMO-Zamboanga
had put up several hand washing areas and foot bath in strategic locations with its gate guards checking port-users body temperature and wearing of facemask and face shield prior entry to the port. Port Police officers are also on constant roving patrol keeping watch to those who are violating the safety protocols to include the observance of the social distancing. The PMO has also teamed up with the City Tourism and City Health Office in monitoring the entry of passenger coming from the BASULTA area and Manila by establishing an entry protocol area for all inbound passengers where their travel requirements and personal well-being is accessed and profiled before they are made to exit the port. Mid of May, PMO-Zamboanga implemented the used of S-Pass as required by DILG for travel anywhere in the country. Hence, in addition to a valid ticket and valid identification card, passengers were required present their S-pass prior to access to the port. The PMO along with other government units has also been keenly aiding the Office of Civil Defense in their endeavor of handling the repatriates from Sandakan, Sabah Malaysia with three (3) successful voyage processed during the course of the Oplan Biyaheng Ayos. In closing, the Port of Zamboanga has experienced a relatively busy yet peaceful Oplan Biyaheng Ayos with no untoward incident/accident as its proof.
