MICROPROJECT PROPOSAL

Subject: - Microcontroller And Applications (MAA).

TOPIC :- Build a Stepper Motor using Micro-Controller

1.0 Rationale: - Equipment with electric circuitry are increasingly being used in all the
industries and maintenance of them is the essential work for the proper functioning of the
complete system. This course will enable the students to develop skills to maintain the basic
electronic circuitry used in electronic equipment. This course will also enable them to fulfil the
basic prerequisite for the advanced maintenance issues which they will face in the industries.

2.0 Aims/Benefits of Micro-project:

• To use Build a Stepper Motor Using Microcontroller.

• To prepare a report.

3.0 Course Outcomes Achieved:

1. Analyze architecture of microcontrollers ICs
2. Interrupt the program for 8051 in assembly language for the given operations.
3. Interrupt the program by using timer, interrupt and serial ports/parallel ports.
4. Interface the memory and I/O devices to 8051 microcontroller.
5. Maintain microcontroller used in different application.

4.0. LITERATURE REVIEW:

• Use Google Chrome as search engine.

Stepper Motor : A stepper motor, also known as step motor or stepping motor, is a brushless
DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. The motor's position
can then be commanded to move and hold at one of these steps without any position sensor
for feedback (an open-loop controller), as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application
in respect to torque and speed.

Microcontroller: A microcontroller (MCU for microcontroller unit) is a small computer on a single

metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit (IC) chip. A microcontroller contains one or
more CPUs (processor cores) along with memory and programmable input/output peripherals.
