Contribution of the intervention

Capstone process paper helps in reflecting what has been learned how the project has

been effective on others and you included and looking for ways to advance in the future. The

guidelines put in place to help regulate the spread of Covid 19 were easy but they were hard to

remember. Patients complained about them forgetting to put on their masks each time they left

their rooms. Social distancing was a problem at first because the elderly people were used to

each other so they wanted an alternative method that was not easy to be found (Rossolatos,

2020). They were also happy about the teaching on Covid, especially the signs, symptoms, and

modes of transmission. The intervention guidelines and strategies were meant to be used during

the Covid 19 pandemic and during any pandemic that may arise in the future. The number of

new infections per day reduced. Though not fully effective with the positive results some were

hopeful that they will be able to curb it in the future.

Literature review

Covid 1 was first discovered in Wuhan China and so far the global confirmed cases are

160 074 267 with 3 325 260 confirmed deaths. More than nine manuscripts are talking about the

effect of Covid 19 on children under the age of twelve years (Ramesh, 2021). How it affects their

motor factors and psychological growth. Very few studies have been developed on how to return

to normalcy at school and home after the pandemic. Covid has led to schools avoiding physical

learning and since education must continue e-learning has become an option. According to

Murgatrotd the main changes in online learning are a problem with the education policy,

availability, affordability, plasticity, and learning pedagogy.

Improving Health Care Technology in Future Practice

Meetings with other health departments can be held virtually through zoom meetings or

Face time. The virtual meeting will help reduce the physical gatherings. Digital thermometers

will be needed in taking people's temperatures at the exits and entrances. Screening machines

will also be needed in health facilities, in plenty to help detect any Covid 19 symptoms

(Fitzgerald, 2021). Because the disease is becoming serious nurses will be needed to monitor all

patients virtually without having to visit their rooms. Modified vans other than ambulances will

be needed to run medical errands for covid 19 patients and also carry them when they needed

further medical attention.

Health care Policy on Planning and Implementation of the Capstone Project

According to the baccalaureate-prepared nurse role solution to problems cannot be found

by employing more nurses or more personal assistants rather by improving the quality of the

nurses in position. Nurse required according to baccalaureate-prepared should be self-driven,

should be able to practice learning and practice and finally, they should have self-perception

(Hoogendijk, 2016). The capstone project help nurses improve all these skills during the research

and implementation of this project. Covid 19 heath policies were a bit challenging during the

research. Limited traveling, reduced interviews due to the social distancing policy, and finally,

observation was not easy, most people were covered in masks. Putting reminders to tell people

when to put on the masks was a great contribution to the health policy. Inventing ways on how to

educate the elderly on Covid 19 was a great contribution as them being aware of the symptoms

and measures on how to curb it will help reduce the rate of infection.

Capstone Project Outcomes

The targeted expectation for this project was to educate the old people using audio and

video communication on Covid 19 in general. This will enhance their understanding due to their

reduced memory capacity and slowed learning (Alatrany, 2020). After educating I was looking

forward to reducing the number of new infections per day. All of them were vulnerable but those

with conditions were more vulnerable so separating them and giving them special attention to

prolong their life was another expectation. The number of new infections reduced though not as

expected. The more vulnerable group can now receive special attention and there are fewer death

cases among them.

Most of them can remember the strategies on how to curb corona and they are striving to

achieve the objectives. My intervention should be used as it is easy, general, and covers a bigger

population not just the old people. The method of teaching can also be applied to small kids

which makes the practice convenient and easy. Reminders and digital thermometers can also be

used in school to remind students to put on their masks. Digital thermometers will take their

temperatures during entrances and exits to help detect the covid signs (Pudjaprasetya & Kamalia,

2018). Meetings via zoom and Face time can be adopted by big companies to avoid physical

contact.

Professional and Personal growth during Capstone Project

This project has boosted my self-perception and esteem. The hard work and dedication I

have put through the project have helped me realize that I am capable of something bigger. I

finished most of the difficult courses in junior session so I became a bit lazy but this project has

reenergized my vigor in this final year. It is a self-driven task so it will help me learn how to ask

questions when I start working. The capstone project has been proof of the knowledge I have

learned since I enrolled in college. This is because it shows schedule, focus, determination, and

application of knowledge and skills. This project has reminded me of the things I learned before

that I may have forgotten, and this will be very crucial when it comes to the actual field.
